Health care repeal: Senate GOP sets themselves up for failure. Was it intentional?
Senate today voted on the Health care repeal, and failed... Miserably. Of course, they knew they would.

As CBS News states:

"Senate Republicans, who are unified in their desire to repeal the bill, have known all year they had virtually no chance to pass a repeal measure. But Republicans campaigned in the midterm elections on a promise to "repeal and replace" the law, and they have been eager to show they are trying to follow through on their promise."

So, the GOP is "unified in their desire", and they told us they would do everything they can to take it down. But did they do everything they could? Really?

"The repeal measure was actually in the form of an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill, and the vote was actually on a "budget point of order" and needed 60 votes for passage."

And from The L.A. Times:

"The repeal, which GOP lawmakers are trying to attach to an aviation bill, is expected to fall short of the necessary 60-vote supermajority."

Notice anything odd here? Look at the language, specifically "in the form of an amendment", and "attach to an aviation bill". This is what is called an Earmark. Remember that word? And do you remember Obama's promise to veto ANY bill that comes across his desk with earmarks in it? These fucking douche bags made DAMN SURE that the bill would fail, NO MATTER WHAT!

America, you just got fucked again.

“Then join hand in hand, brave Americans all! By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall!”—John Dickenson, The Liberty Song

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”—Samuel Adams

"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."—Ayn Rand
