| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1249036 02/04/2011 03:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They recently cracked down on Iranians' access to most outside websites. Yesterday saw the removal of access to sites like Yahoo and Reuters. Word (from a friend in Iran) is that they're transitioning to no outside-of-the-country internet access whatsoever. I could speculate a million things here, but I won't, because I just don't know. |

[link to www.presstv.ir] It actually makes sense_ IMO Do you know who is the speaker in Tehran? [link to www.presstv.ir] He's the Khomenei leader. Head honcho, no? He was president of Iran from 1981 to 1989, and has been Supreme Leader of Iran since June 1989 when the Assembly of Experts appointed him to succeed Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. He has been described as one of only three people having "important influences" on the Islamic Republic of Iran (the other two being the founder of the republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, and the president of Iran for much of the 1990s, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani). So far, the biggest challenge to his leadership has been the mass protests following the June 2009 presidential elections. Khamenei, however, continued to strongly support Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's policies and re-election. |

This is why aid to Egypt militery has not been pulled. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 276706Sad, looks like all this dying was for nothing Do you mean Prisoner Rendering Suleiman? This does not look good seriously geopolitically. It's kinda like catch 22 - Iran is emerging in the picture of the arab world. They take egypt they take the gateway of the whole region and the whole neighborhood. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1255575 02/04/2011 06:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The people can demonstrate all they like, but Mubarak doesn't need to take notice and resign. The only leverage that will force him out is exerted by his generals. But they won't exert it with force because it will then look like a military coup. He doesn't need to obey the Americans' demands to resign, so it could well be that all he needs to do is to wait it out, letting his thugs cause as much disruption as possible until he forces the opposition to agree to HIS terms, namely, to stay on until the presidential election in September. So the question is: what can FORCE Mubarak out? |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1255898 02/04/2011 12:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As some have suggested, it is NOT Obama-care, or anything to do with Obama why America is on the decline. America suffers from systemic brain-rot, gross stupidity, and insufferable xenophobia, perpetuated by right wing politicians and religious fundamentalists. They simply convince the sheep that Obama is to blame for everything, while manipulating everyone and everything behind the scenes, in cahoots with big money interests. |
