I do not think it was coincidental that the regieme rounded up journalists or held them in their hotels, then sniper fire. Saw it on a live feed then it went blank. Live feeds have been drying up. This government doesn't want the world to see them shooting the protesters from roof tops with sniper guns. Regardless who wins this will spread to other ME countries and perhaps globally.

It appears as if the people of Egypt DO NOT WANT either the existing president, his vice-president or anyone associated with the related 'regime'. They have been entirely non-violent since the protests started, and have allegedly only been attacked by outside parties and other forms of agent provocateurs. They refuse to giveup and givein to what they have repetitively proclaimed as a tyrannical, vicious and unsympathetic government. And it makes sense. You need only take a look at videos of how their previous elections have gone, when vans of police would attempt to RUN OVER anyone showing up to vote. Apparently, they have also released a number of prisoners under the pretense that they would fight anti-government supporters. Sniper fire from laser scoped guns is very very hardcore. Everything that is going on in Egypt is beginning to feel like a case study in the event of any sort of a revolt elsewhere. Tactics that we are witnessing now are beginning (In my opinion) to look like plans that we've seen elsewhere. I'm very disturbed by this. Not to mention how every other country that has something invested in Egypt is currently (and probably covertly) jumping into the mix. The only people that's voices are not being heard, are the people of Egypt.

Allow me to rephrase: ISRAEL steals money from American citizens via taxes and proceeds to use this stolen money to pay off Mubarak ($1,300,000,000.00 per year). He then uses this money (after heavily lining his own pockets) to pay his "security forces" (which include armed gangs and plainclothes "police") and his Ministry of Information (1984, anyone?). These organizations are meant to extinguish any and all anti-Israel, anti-Mubarak, or pro-democracy ideas before they create any risk to the status quo.

Yeah. I can't prove that. I just heard it and I'm not there. I'm not in belief that they are prisoners either. The guy was ranting about sniper fire, the lasers, the prisoners and how he could be shot at any second. It was very very intense.

Actually, to say "ranting" isn't fair either. I remember thinking that he was pretty calm and collective for someone so close to the action.

Sounds like these men were either let loose by the government to squash the protestors or they never were in jail and they are special forces of the egyptian army

It may be true or it may not the question is are they receiving a less sentence or getting paid or even bribed with food shelter and a promise of protection to do what it is they are doing?? Yeah doesn't sound like the escaped prisoners. Unless they stopped shooting, stood up, and said "We are the escaped prisoners." Not really sure how anyone could even speculate the snipers being the escaped prisoners. We have seen these extremists in action for years, and not one of them has handled a firearm all that well.

Just goes to show that criminals will obtain firearms, illegally, no matter what kind of laws exist.

If those Egyptians had firearms, this would be a much more peaceful "revolution". Think polite society.

Escaped prisoners?

The Muslim Brotherhood were arrested...only to "escape" a few hours later....The escaped tried to coop the rioters as leaders...posing as the escaped prisoners...

Hopefully we get to see Mubarak dragged through the street and hanged. After a fair trial.
