Re: Why do people hate Jesus so much?
Can I expand on this?

Thanks! There is good and evil in the human condition...we build them through concepts and put a reality to them...we inject the idea of that concept into the way we percieve reality around us and react to the concept as if it is real.

Though, from a 'universal reality' frame of perception, there is no good or evil. But that can be a very difficult process because so much of the human condition has been mired in the good/evil concepts...HUMAN concepts.
 Quoting: SickScent

From a completely secular (universal) outlook this is a good argument. But it still is an argument that is subject to the laws of the universe. Either way, the only question I have is how did humans create a concept of good and evil to begin with?
 Quoting: ZTE

the concept of good and evil is, philosophically speaking, a form of determination. Determination is a distinguishing of anything from anything else. the minute you start to distinguish though, philosophy gets a bit trapped since it means that you are already limiting what each term might mean in reality. How we say them and how they are in themselves is a huge problem in philosophy. I'm a philosophy academic so that's why I've answered in this way. In ancient philosophy, God IS the GOOD and the GOOD is above everything else completely. We have to be careful when we 'define' things since there is a limit that exists to our capacity, as finite beings, to do this.

And by the way, I was a big atheist for MANY years so I have done the REVERSE experiment. The experiment applies to anything. I also agree that some religious people are dogmatic and blind and hypocritical and this makes things really worse. In their case I would have to tell them the same I say to atheists. Do an experiment where you stop judging other humans and visualizing them in fire and brimstone since it's soooo tedious.

Bullshit! I grew up believing in God with all my heart. I came from a very strong God-fearing family. I preached it ALLL! Got tired of him supposedly talking to everyone else but me. Just admit you can't answer the question. It's all a lie. You just can't face the fact that your world is based on something that may be a farce...like I did. Still waiting for the answer. BTW, never had anything against other humans, and spent my life trying to visualize that peace everyone so longs for. Who's doing the judging here?

To all the clowns who don't believe....man what a pathetic life it must be to look into the mirror and see nothingness.

To deny god is to deny yourself and your own existence.

Yah, everything got here by complete randomness.... HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAH

Sucks to be you.

You should get out and enjoy nature more instead of being boxed in your lil bubble of nothingness.

Ill bet you were a fun kid to have around.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1081433

I was fine. I just had no interest in that biblical crap and yet I was forced to go and submit to the brainwashing that "Jesus loves you" every Sunday for a couple of years at the impressionable age. You'd hate him too if that was your experience with church. It was more like torture to me. I DIDN'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF IT. To this day I cringe when I have to set foot in a church for a wedding or something.

Sundays are for GOLF. And NFL Football.

I'm sure if he were real Jesus would hates me too for being the selfish, self-centered prick I am... but whatever. Send me to hell then. LOL

Re: Why do people hate Jesus so much?
When someone can answer this question for me...then maybe I will consider there actually being a "god" somewhere out there. So far he has been nowhere in sight for me. I haven't ever heard him talk to me, not even when I was at my lowest point in life. Where the hell is HE? And what is this falling out and speaking in tongues crap? I think it's all a big show. Anyway, here is my question.....

In Genesis... God created the day, night, the earth, people, animals...everything. Right? When a huge flood comes because man screwed up (which is another issue I have a problem with, since forgiveness is what he is supposedly all about) Noah saves each animal species by loading them up on his famous arc. The Bible even names these species of animals. Look it up. Now with this in mind, where the hell did the dinosaurs come from? I don't recall them being mentioned, and I truly don't think 2 T-rexes are going to fit on any manmade boat. I don't care who made it!

Anyone?....anyone? Any answers? Can't wait to see this. I have asked MANY holy men about this over the last 30 years, and have stumped EVERY one of them. I asked this question first when I was 14 years old. Was even asked nicely to leave one church. Hm. Now how "christian" is that?
 Quoting: Okie Momma

Faith and Proof are mutually exclusive. To prove something to someone is to remove God from the equation since the answer must come from a material resource, one that is finite. First you must decide, even if it's only as an experiment (and you must admit that doing this could not harm you) to simply decide to spend time believing. Give it a day, a week, or however much time you are willing to grant the experiment. Really decide that during that time you will be open on every level to believing. Approach reality that way. After the time elapses, then return here and reevaluate your question on your own. Only you can do this. No one else can prove God to you or answer that question.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1175397

What? What kind of crap are you feeding me? What does that mean? Im supposed to go meditate on it and wait for some kind of answer "in my heart". Trust me I have been praying, talking, meditating, screaming for some kind of answers for a very long time. Answer the question!!!
 Quoting: Okie Momma

I would answer the question but it might mean talking about aliens among us. Although related, that is another thread entirely. To follow the right rabbit why not go to wanttoknow.info and do the free courses there. (I recently did some, mostly to read a few specific articles and it was good.)

Oh I understand the limitations of the question, I'm just asking where this concept of good and evil originated from?

In other words, what makes us different than the animals?

Here's the problem. You consider God a man, male -- you engender a creative energy. If you really want a spiritual life, and I'm not saying "Christian", think of God as within. Give yourself the power to heal, fix things, render answers about life and the shit (frankly) that happens. That power is within each of us, part of our energy, existence, choices. Tap into it.

Thanks! There is good and evil in the human condition...we build them through concepts and put a reality to them...we inject the idea of that concept into the way we percieve reality around us and react to the concept as if it is real.

The anger of Sandi T has for getting raped is just a concept from her actual reality and not real at all?

Here's the problem. You consider God a man, male -- you engender a creative energy. If you really want a spiritual life, and I'm not saying "Christian", think of God as within. Give yourself the power to heal, fix things, render answers about life and the shit (frankly) that happens. That power is within each of us, part of our energy, existence, choices. Tap into it.

Ok. I'll bite...and just how do you "tap into" this power within? You still haven't told me anything new.

Re: Why do people hate Jesus so much?
He has been talking to you but has it occurred to you a) that something tries to BLOCK HIM b) due to your free will you must clear that before you can see that he has been their all along.

Yes, it is always your fault.

The bible has contradictions? It really doesn't, you just can't figure out how the contradictions aren't really contradictory! See, it's YOU!

Jesus didn't answer your prayer? You didn't have enough faith! See, it's YOU!

You aren't hearing Jesus? You are blocking him and don't have enough faith! See, it's YOU!

Anything that doesn't work about the bible and christianity IS YOUR FAULT!

See how easy that is?
