Disproving the Bible with five select absurdities taken from the silly book
Hmm, there are rather a lot to choose from but let's start at Exodus, my favourite silly scene; the parting of the sea.

Exodus 15:8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea

^ Ummm WTF?

Next we have a good one from Leviticus about people with flat noses who must stay away from the altar.

Leviticus 21:18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous

^ Really? This stuff is so funny you just couldn't make it up.

Now this is truly magnificent, the God fellow makes the sun stop 'moving'.

Joshua 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

But we modern humans know that it's the Earth that orbits the sun, do we not? So this God fellow is so stupid he can't even comprehend basic orbital mechanics? 1rof1

This one is really silly.

Kings 20:30 But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. And Benhadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber.

Umm, a wall, a single wall crushed twenty seven thousand people? Hmm, methinks someone is exaggerating again.

Finally we come to Proverbs. This one isn't so much absurd as it is dumb.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

The lesson? Don't think for yourself, let God do it for you.

That's all for today folks. And for those who say 'why aren't you doing Islam?' don't worry, I'll do that tomorrow.

Goodly bye xXx

Conglomerate rock is conglomerate.

Secret message is secret!
"And though I believe in the ineffable glory of God, and though I might have experienced the undeniable reality of the Deity, and though I may know the secrets of the ages, these do not fulfill the Love in my heart. But to Change and Be and Do and dissolve both the subject of my person and the object of my God into the fluency of Empirical Providence. The Way, the Truth, and the Life."

Uh huh. Right. So....you believe in these absurdities and yet you think I have the under 20 IQ?

That's what I love about Christians, when they're around, you'll never be lost for a good laugh.

absurdly lame. why don't you rub a few more brain cells together and analyze how Paul totally usurped the message of Jesus?
Exalted is He from what they utter. Exalted is He from what they imagine. Exalted is He that exists without a place. Exalted is He that was there forever without a time or a beginning. Exalted is He that will be there forever without a time or an end. Exalted is He that will forever be praised. That is your God.

Before converting to Islam you should click the link in my signature. The first one. After that you will never leave Christianity and all your atheist friends will convert if you show the videos to them. Good luck and God bless you!

Leviticus 21:18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous being more than is sufficient or required; excessive.
2. unnecessary or needless.
Meaning: In context, I would like you to give me the story first

^ Really? This stuff is so funny you just couldn't make it up.

But we modern humans know that it's the Earth that orbits the sun, do we not? So this God fellow is so stupid he can't even comprehend basic orbital mechanics? 1rof1 Meaning: He didn't understand the mechanics of Sun and Moon.. but obviously, there was a change in daylight and night..This one is really silly.

A long HISTORY and SCIENCE confirm the Bible repeatedly all the time.

You are only another victim of NWO mind washing.

"BRAINWASHING is not, as some anti-Christian educators and students contend, the Biblical process of training our children to love and follow God. The word "brainwashing" refers to a planned, step-by-step attempt to "wash" family-taught beliefs from the minds of those who oppose government ideology. In America, it would mean replacing the old Biblical values and world view with a new way of thinking that would support a totalitarian agenda. In other words, every child must become a peace child, a willing and active servant of a new world order."

OP was "enlightened" at the uni, or was he given a pagan superstition?
...
..
.
The idea of spontaneous generation was based on ancient superstition rather than any scientific research.

The belief that inanimate matter can produce life is actually a medieval superstition. According to this theory, called "spontaneous generation", it was believed that mice sprang naturally from wheat, or maggots arose "spontaneously" from meat. At the time when Darwin put forward his theory, the belief that microbes of their own accord formed themselves from inanimate matter was also very common.

Pasteur and other scientists disproved the concept of spontaneous generation and established that life comes only from previous life. (law of biogenesis)

Re: Disproving the Bible with five select absurdities taken from the silly book
OP, all of your "illuminations" on the silliness of the Bible can be understood when you factor in the notion that Yahweh was a being with technology.

Exodus 15:8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea

-Recall that while this was going on, a "Pillar of cloud by day, a pillar of fire by night" was hovering overhead, in the sky, leading Moses and the tribes through the desert.

A force of some sort emitted from the "Nostrils" of the hovering Pillar, parting the water.

Leviticus 21:18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous

-Extreme discrimination and preservation of the Pure bloodline is a major theme in the OT. Superfluous traits were corruptions in the bloodline, and were discriminated against.

Joshua 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

-More likely, a very bright lightsource was provided overhead that the scribes interpreted as "the sun"

Kings 20:30 But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. And Benhadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber.

-Are you not familiar with how massive and monolithic ancient construction was? Perhaps a domino effect was ommitted for brevity...a literary choice of the author.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

-There are a lot of stupid people out there who shouldn't be allowed to think for themselves, because they are chronically wrong. This is 99% of the population, and we have access to information like crazy. These people didn't even have that.

OP, it is you that appears to be silly, thoughtless etc.

I have no problem with a belief in a creator.
But I have a problem with people that attribute this stuff to the creator.
Anyway Christians will not answer any questions so these anti Cristian posts are pointless.

*** Do you think it more likely that this describes a Volcano?
Read you book again…..It does NOT say that this pillar was “hovering overhead”.

-More likely, a very bright light source was provided overhead that the scribes interpreted as "the sun"

***Or possibly a Super Nova.

How about the plagues god brought to Egypt…such as the one where all the cattle and Horses were killed.
And yet there were horses to pull the Chariots that followed after the allegedly fleeing Israelites.
Where did these horses suddenly come from?

Actually they were being EXPELLED. Written as is to save face.

At least get your religion right. You're quoting the Jewish Torah. (old testament).

So Christians don't revere the Old Testament anymore?

Re: Disproving the Bible with five select absurdities taken from the silly book
-Recall that while this was going on, a "Pillar of cloud by day, a pillar of fire by night" was hovering overhead, in the sky, leading Moses and the tribes through the desert.

A Volcano, generally, doesn't move, and yes, it does say it was in the sky because, at the end of the day, the "Pillar" descended on top of the camp.

Because I choose not to believe a scrap book of ancient fairy tales with utter mindless devotion. Touche.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1033103

No, again, you're a moron.

I'm saying your lack of belief is due to profound lack of information, research etc.

You just don't want to believe, so you take the easy way out, and that is profoundly stupid.

You say we shouldn't make fun of this book because these people didn't have access to information like us or that they interpreted things wrong...but I thought God wrote this book.
You Christians confuse me...

Who or what is God?

I assume you only have one solid idea of the concept.

Re: Disproving the Bible with five select absurdities taken from the silly book
-There are a lot of stupid people out there who shouldn't be allowed to think for themselves, because they are chronically wrong. This is 99% of the population, and we have access to information like crazy. These people didn't even have that.

 Quoting: Greg_B.

Please tell me THAT'S not really your attitude!?! :(
