Are digital devices actually MONITORING devices?
How likely do you think it is that our 'digital toys' (TVs, computers, cell phones, GPS that comes standard in cars, etc)
are actually 24/7 monitoring devices?

If some Overlord prick wants to see a buncha fat asses lounging around their living rooms at night, picking their noses & farting while they eat cold Spaghetti-Ohs out of the can and masturbate to online porn...I'm just glad it is his job & not mine.

On a grander scale, however, we're entitled to privacy within our homes, vehicles, personal lives.

Yeah I know - I'm paranoid. But just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aint out to gitcha.

Thoughts, anyone?

I had similar thoughts about Security cameras actually having hidden directed-energy mind-control devices inside. That might explain a lot of violent acts being recorded by them.

I would not be surprised one bit. A cell service provider can listen in to conversations in a room through a phone, for example. A speaker can act as a microphone, etc.

Hell . Furbies were banned from military bases in years past, iirc.

No, they're not listening devices.

I've already opened up a converter box and debunked that guy that glued a camera to the fucking transformer and said there were cameras in there. Not only was he a prick, but his understandings of electrical components was laughable.

The digital switch has one purpose and one purpose only. To clear the bandwidth up for RFID technology. Now whether that's for a future implant or other RFID technology is what is up for debate.

No you're not. It's obvious a police state has been in the making for years and they've been releasing these technologies in order to track and manipulate us more and more easily.

I used to work for an extremely wealthy American with defence interests, and he insisted I always carry my mobile phone, if I did not he got very irate.
From conversations we had I was absolutely convinced he had access to my phone as a listening device.
This is true old news to me.

Now that thing, in the contract you give them consent to access the camera without your knowledge. They should make lens caps for them.. lol

No; I don't believe you're paranoid.

On android phones, Google GPS is apparently enabled by default and can't be un-enabled without hacking the ROM. Why would a private corporation need access to your location? Are they listening to your mic? Are they watching thru the camera? My android phone actually sent my private data to google (synced) without permission. I no longer use an android phone.

I think the apple phones are probably worse from what I've heard. Any know for sure?

It appears that people are willing to give up all kinds of private data if you throw in enough bells and whistles. It does not bode well for the future.

True, but range is relevant. It's far easier to monitor your ISP than it is to drive a van around and eavesdrop on wireless routers.

Are digital devices actually MONITORING devices?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1248986

You have to assume ALL digitally "connected" devices have the potential for monitoring.

You work from that basic premise.

The iPhone and Google's Android phone would be at THE VERY TOP of that list....but all cell phones can be "modified" by software updates remotely....without your knowing.

Hmmm... i was having trouble with my satellite, found out one of the satellite receivers won't even turn off!
Has any one noticed that if you leave on one channel for over 2 hours the thing will ask you if you're still watching? Like are you still there? what difference does it make??.. and you have to hit the select button to keep it on that channel.. Now that's real weird.

Anyone remember the X-Files episode "Wetwired"? If you haven't seen it, go see it!

"The truth is out there" i.e. it's right there in your face as you watch.

"After a man kills three people and his wife because he mistook them for a ruthless Bosnian dictator, Mulder and Scully discover a test involving mind control using television signals that make people's worst fears become real in any form."

Yeah I read that - but it was something I thoughtof a loooong time ago, well before Digital/Satellite TV was mainstream.

Freaky Stuff...

Sometimes, just to express myself, I shoot the bird at the TV. I've debated on whether or not to put cellotape over the built-in digicam (which I NEVER use but had no option, upon purchase) on my laptop.

Thanks for the support...it's nice to know I'm not the only "KrAyZeEe WunN" up in heah...
