WTH? PIN! ABC NEWS Hires Actor Who Portrays Racist Security Guard To Invoke Racism Response In Arizona

"In our first scenario, the security guard approaches the actor playing the Latino customer moments after he enters the restaurant.

"You got any ID on you? Documentation? Papers?" he asks. "Are you visiting? Do you understand a little English?"

At first, people who seem to notice what's going on just stare nervously at the two men. But within a few minutes, a man charges up and confronts the security guard.

"Excuse me, who are you? Do you work here?" asks the man.

"No, I'm a security guard, I just stopped in to get some food," replies the guard. "I'm just trying to be a good American."

"I wouldn't say you're a good American. I'd say you're an ass!" yells the man.

What our actor playing the security guard was doing -- racial profiling -- was exactly what some argue would happen under the new immigration law."

Stoping anyone on the street just for shits & giggles isn't even part of the Arizona law. It's only being caught in violation of the law that the cops can ask your immigration status.

This is the type of response they were looking for. This is SOOO much bull shit. If cops are really going to walk up to every brown skinned person and demand proof of citizenship then the law is being abused. And, I'd expect that officers would be using much more tact when approaching people instead of publicly humiliating them. That is one of the reasons I'm pissed off about ABC doing this the way they did. They make a guy with the badge out to be a bad guy...and they overplay and rediculously portray overt stupidity to misrepresent the potential lawful and respectful actions of peace officers who are attempting to protect our borders and country.

How can things like this occur? Was there ever a statement from ABC that this was in fact staged? And, does ANYBODY involved in watching this go down feel that it was a bit rediculous and overplayed?

This is not ABC News, it is a TV show called "What Would You Do?" They have different scenerios every week to see how people will, or won't, act and react in an uncomfortable situation then they interview the people afterward to ask why they did or didn't intercede.

Didn't ABC pull a stunt using explosives on a GM truck to show how the gas tank exploded after a vehicle t-boned it? Later they spent a 15 minute prime time period apologizing that the vehicle in fact didn't explode on impact as they implied?
