yes, I am aware of that, but the whole wording is wrong. You don't give info to the army on how to deal with a situation and at the same time tell them you are hiring criminals and thugs and pay them well. The army are not paid well and that would just annoy them and you just dont put that sort of stuff into security briefing docs. You would also not even need to mention that in a security briefing to the army. Governments work on a need to know basis.

more from Iran's leader

He is talking about Mubarak actually helping Israel to attack and control Gaza. Mubarak did not een allow aid, food and medicine to go to Gaza.

People of Egypt had enough, they felt they were being humiliated and realised that soon it would also be their turn.

Under Mubarak 40% of people are in poverty. Mubarak was just a slave. Mubarak should know that elite in America just used him. They won't even allow him in USA. They didn't even allow Bin Ali in USA because they are no longer of any use.

To day all the Elite in Israel and America are very aggitated and looking for a way out and a way to twist everything around.
Right now they have no choice but to chant with people of Egypt against the regime but watch very carfully as to the reaction of people and then try to make their next move.

Wow, amazing stuff.... more to follow...

latest I have is that the Whitehouse have asked Mubarak to go today (again!) and are in contact with the government of Egypt
 Quoting: Janey

US just wants things to calm down and implement Mubarak 2.0 ...same shit different day...and maybe they are right in doing so....what if we have a fundamentalist government within a couple of weeks, sharia and all....lot of people here will feel pretty stupid then....that would be a very ugly dictatorial government replaced by someting far worse....between a rock and a hard place I would say....and Europe can ready itself for 10 million refugees....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 923740

Can you give your take on this Janey? Or are you just reporting and giving info? Tnx btw for your input....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 923740

I think that there is some merit to this. The US are in a mess in the region now. They cannot support Mubarak and fear supporting the protesters opens the door to a hardline muslim regime that is not supportive of the west.

Personally I believe the Egyptian people have always been moderate and that it is not our choice in the west who runs Egypt. The Egyptian people are speaking for democracy. I hope for a western style democracy to emerge. I have high hopes of this as every egyptian I speak to wants this to happen too.
 Quoting: Janey

Tnx for response....you're talking utopia....reality is, that "the people's will" is totally ignored everywhere in the world....the thing I hardly hear about in this thread is the trigger for what is happening now is the world food shortage, which hits the "2 bucks a day" people 10 times as hard as Westerners....I think this is hardly a regional problem, this thing can strike anywhere in the world now....except maybe for some of the more socialised countries which can still spread the misery a bit....

More from Iran's leader

He is talking about Egypt and Tunisia and says Egypt today has been subject to a lot of betrayal and fighting for her dignity.
Palestine and Egypt destiny are related and the same issue.
If we are to look at Egypt and see how oppressed they are then we must also see the Palestinians.

The Egyptian people tried so hard to help Palestine untill 1967 but after that America took control of Egyptian leader and the humiliating camp david agreement was forced and Egypt no longer was allowed to help people of Palestine.

Egypt stood side by side with Israel in attacking people in Gaza not long ago. So many were killed over 23 days and yet Mubarak stood against people of Gaza, yet the people of Egypt were crying (as shown on TV) because they were not allowed to help their fellow human beings.

What we see today in Egyptian people are all these feeling blowing up. They finally have the guts to stand up and say "No more"
I salute people of Egypt and Tunisia.
We can not expect Egypt to follow the way of Iran but we ask them to learn from what happened to us and how we had to defend outselves from the tricks of those who run the west.

more to follow...

Re: janey's Little Sock News Thread - Egypt Protests Updates - Friday Day of Departure Demo
Good morning everybody.

I am nervous today. Among the many other things to worry about for the protests today, I can't help but feel this is the beginning of the end of American influence in the Middle East.

That will be a very different world for all of us everywhere. Like the Egyptians, this is the only world we have known. It is impossible to predict where this road will lead - could be a a better world, could also be a lot worse.

In the end, the people of the middle east need the opportunity to command their own destiny, and they will get there now that it has started. What that means for me and my family here in comfy Canada I have no idea.

But freedom is universal human right and no matter what happens, it will, in the end, be in the best for us all. I hope.

The Iranian people feel horribly oppressed by their own regime. In fact, I have always found Iranian families to be incredibly generous and courteous and good people in my dealings with them.
