Makes me wonder why they weren't busy being cocreative or maintaining balance on a wider scale. But then I understand the laissez faire attitude.

Interesting that they adhered to a calendar, but then again, they could've been duped by their so-called mayan brothers.

From what I got out of it, it seemed that they had thought that the 'dead' ones could not be 'saved'. Maybe something like the dead ones were absent from any type of 'balancing' they could try and achieve...imagine the entire world population thought to being that way...IMO, you would make damn sure nothing would intrude upon your own light...ie, solitude.

Hi. Yeah, I followed the link, and the rest of the article there regarding the Kogi was pretty good, but that 'Ellis' stuff in your original post still kinda grates on me though. I chased it around the internet for half an hour and still can't find out where it originally came from or what the back story is to it.

Having said that, the Kogi are just about my favourite people on the planet. I first heard of them back in the 80's when I was starting my archaeological career and they stayed with me ever since (The BBC docu is well worth a watch if you can find it).

I always used their society as a benchmark as to how complicated/simple/wonderful humans could be. The gourd-and-stick coca thing was my first introduction into cognitive/symbolic studies - something I've taken much further in latter years - and I thank them for that :D

In short, I think mankind does itself a great disservice if it fails to take heed of what the Kogi say. We are 'Little Brother' - and we act like it.

Good question.

I remember seeing a documentary about these people many years ago. Their concerns about what was happening to the environment up in the mountains were so great, that they sent a fellow down into civilization in order to learn the languages necessary to communicate them. This eventually led to the documentary being made about them.

Their ideas about spirituality are worth a close look. I reformatted it to get rid of that annoying breathless spacing that was used.

"Ereira translates... The Kogi concept of Aluna, a spirit world, which imitates everything material. According to the Kogi, Aluna is intelligence. It is concentrated thought and memory. It is spiritual energy, It makes possible such human aspects as growth, birth and sexuality. Aluna created nine worlds, and each world was given a single daughter. The first eight worlds were infertile, but the ninth was capable of conceiving children."

I guess now we are entering in the ninth world starting March 9th we can conceive -- co-create consciously and in grace

The Australian Aborigines have legends and cave painting of beings they call the Wandjina. These beings have no mouths, and spoke with their minds. They are often referred to as creator gods, and are said to have descended from the stars.

Paintings of these beings occur mainly in the Kimberlies Region of north Western Australia. The paintings are retouched, to show reverence.

The main legend around them, is that if 'God's Laws' are broken, they will return and drown all the people, as they are said to have done once before. I have also read that they have to do with judgement, and that you can stand before a painting and ask for forgiveness.

At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Sydney, a big Wandjina image was a small part of the ceremony, and therefore the Wandjina's face was beamed out to the rest of the world in 1997.

I have looked for some links for you, but haven't found a site with as much information about them as I have previously read. I will link in what I did find. They are so sacred to the Aborigines, that they don't talk to the white man much about them.

Apparently they mentioned in the Chariots of the Gods book and documentary, as being proof of extra-terrestrial beings having visited Earth. However, the book I read by an Aboriginal elder said that the halos around their heads, which were mistaken for space helmets, actually represent the lightening, thunder and clouds which they bring with them.

It is interesting what the Kogi said, and found in August 1999. When I first started receiving messages in 1991 that the world would end, unless we could change, I was compelled to try to convince people to open their hearts and change, and start caring for the planet.

The internet made a lot of channelled information more widely available, and connected a lot of like minded people. Maybe that had something to do with the surprising result that was achieved.

In 1999, an Inuit elder/shaman came to Australia with the intention of cleansing our sacred sites/energy points, to assist with the change of energies. The last ceremony, held at Uluru, was in the week after the 1999 eclipse.

who's to say they haven't been working on realms which to us have remained unseen/imperceptible/incredible
it would make more sense that such a society would rather than wouldn't imo
and i suspect they would largely remain elusive so as not to disturb their own harmony -wouldn't you?
- and that harmony iself would be vital to the work they do/have been doing
which they wouldn't have any need to broadcast
and doing so may be counter productive to their intent
