Re: Circumcision: What on earth are we doing to our children
Circumcision is way more painful the older you get. Babies have short term memory not long term and will not even remember the procedure. Lastly, you shouldn't circumcise your child until day 8.

How old was this child? Typical circumcision in the US is done at day 2-3. There are scientific reasons to wait, and if you follow the bible Yahweh says to wait until the 8th day. This is not a barbaric practice remotely comparable to the practice of female circumcision which cuts off the clitoris (btw, removing the clitoris is akin to cutting off the penis).

Now you can go out and read how bad circumcision is, except those are overblown and more isolated situations. As with all surgery, things can go wrong; I mean we are dealing with human error here. The facts show, that in the long run, a male will have fewer issues if circumcised. Since we have better hygiene then most of the past societies, the problems associated with not being circumcised are harder to find....but still prevalent. My brother in law has "cheese" issues with my sister in law complained about. So much for oral sex. That is just one case.

Please, do not buy into this BS about male circumcision being barbaric. Truly look into the matter and ask yourself, why was the procedure told to be done. If your only conclusion is Yahweh is cruel, then you haven't done your homework. True study should lead you to understand why this procedure is done. Even still you do not have to do it because our modern system allows us to clean ourselves really well. Just do not forget that we can be lazy creatures and not all men take care of themselves in the hygiene department.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1256837

I said very clearly I remember it. I had recurring dreams for most of my life, and had a hard time continuing meditations because I couldn't get over the memory of the pain. When you say "babies don't have long term memory" that is just a vacant way of dehumanizing a person based on science that can only study neural tissue. Science does not yet have the capacity to study consciousness, so you can't say that. I am telling you you are wrong, and I know this.

Circumcision of boys is not far off from removing the clitoris. If ALL your foreskin is gone you have lost the vast huge majority of sexuality in that area, and what you do have, the head, becomes desensitized throughout your life. Think about what you are saying. The procedure is taking a knife to the most nerve-dense area of the human body not including the brain, and cutting off the most sensitive part of it, and you think it's not like doing it to a girl! The equivilant of the male clitoris in terms of nerve specialization and density is not the head, it's the rigid band, which is completely removed in 99% of circumcisions.

You can do your research again, and try to realize that a culture will do and say just about anything to assert that it's customs and traditions are right. Very few people when left uncircumcised have problems with their genitals. The ones who do you hear about, because they report what it is like to get circumcised. The ones that don't you do not hear about. That's a pretty obvious statement that you have taken for granted.

This is what this thread was all about, people downplaying it with ugly logic, despite the fact that logic and science have not yet penetrated consciousness and the true nature of a person in their spiritual development.

Babies are not animals, they are conscious in the womb and even the environment the mother is in while they are in the womb effects them. This is a harmful procedure that effects the psychology and well being of men throughout their lives, I am telling you this because I know. You are merely speculating based on science, and science has not yet entered this realm of human consciousness because consciousness is not measured in neurons in the brain. Brain growth and the brain itself are not consciousness.

Re: Circumcision: What on earth are we doing to our children
Why on earth would circumcision be more painful when you are older when infants are far more sensitive to every sense right when they are born. You cite science to back up your hypothesis that babies "dont have long term memory" which is a disgusting attitude that can lead to really bad outcomes if you truly look at it in the light, and then you have the gall to oppose research that clearly shows heightened nerve activity in the bodies of newborns.

You are just completely off base man.

Re: Circumcision: What on earth are we doing to our children
The reality of the situation is that there are more nerve endings in the foreskin than anywhere else, and that includes the head of the penis. There is no part of the body you could cut off that would cause more pain.

Babies hearts are liteally stopping because it is too much pain to bear.

Those who survive do not understand the spirituality and depth of emotion that women experience in sex. They become lustful for a sexual experience and sex becomes competition and even borderline violent.

They tell us women are just purer, that boys are made of slime and rat tails and girls of sugar and spice and everything nice. They tell us sex for women is spiritual and emotional, for men it is physical.
 Quoting: DaySweeper

I disagree with your premise. You're shooting from the hip, so to speak. If you aren't circumcised, then how could you possibly know what sex is like for a circumcised man?

 Quoting: DaySweeper

You may claim you remember, but i do not buy into that.
Why is it better to circumcise a baby then an adult, simple answer is...BABIES HEAL FASTER and that is a fact!
Why do babies not remember the procedure, because their neural pathways are only just setting in and this takes years to fully develop. Yes, you can claim the soul will remember...remember what? A little pain? Life is filled with pain of different kinds. Lets compare say, a day of discomfort for a baby to that of his adult counterpart that doesn't clean himself well and so he suffers from many uti's. Which is more "painful" for the soul then?

NO, the foreskin is not akin the clitoris! The head of the penis is the same thing as the clitoris, it has just developed differently based on the difference of the sexes. I contend that the foreskin is akin to the hood that does protect the clitoris. There is a fundamental difference though, the hood does not encase the clitoris and therefore does not trap as much gunk.

As far as nerves go, there are many nerves in all skin...its how we feel touch. You can twist this however you want to try and back your agenda, but I just use the facts and experiences. I am a circumcised man and I know uncircumcised men. None of which had many UTI's, but did have "cheese" issues. That is neither good for them, but is even worse for the woman. Women that sleep with men that have a their foreskin but fail to clean it properly, have increased bacterial infections and yeast infections. Facts are facts dude. I was not simply promoting a religious tradition, I was saying their is scientific reason to adhere to that religious tradition.

Has anyone else noticed the anger which permeates the replies made on this thread by the men who have been circumcised?

Perhaps the pain of circumcision has long term psychological effects that increase a man's tendency to be violent.

Consider that places in the world where circumcision is the norm are also some of the most violent places in the world with the most warlike peoples.

Just look at this link and you may see the trend.

You make a good point.

Circumcision isn't the norm in the UK, but I am snipped because my parents had a Jew doctor.

Naturally, this made my schooldays hellish.

This is why I hate Jews and Islamics.

I just looked. All of the major wars occuring in the world and that have occured are going on in those areas.

It's not hard to understand when you think about it. Constant sexual agitation all throughout your life, and then the limited sexual pleasure you have dwindles and lessens as your life goes on, even leading to impotency.

Circumcision is a stupid barbaric practice.

Thankfully health insurance companies no longer pay for having it done which has reduced the frequency of it.

It destroys sensitivity in later life.

Seems to me that this is a pointless surgical procedure. Risks FAR OUTWEIGH any possible advantages here. Unless you have a medical reason (99% never will) or a religious reason it's just a stupid thing to do. "Because I had it done" is not a reason to continue to do something to another generation.

I read where DNA can be tele-ported. If so, then what if the pain of cutting starts to influence the nearby reproductive stem cells. What if they get altered in such a way that, after a few generations, other extremities get confused about what's gone and they try to regrow what went missing. I'm sure no research would ever be done for finding why the cut people's noses and ears keep growing and growing into old age. Just a thought.

11,,000 babies born in the USA every day, so about 5,500 boys each day. About 90% are circumcised.

Can you elaborate on this? You mean DNA is teleported to another human being? But the DNA would still hold the code for a full intact body would it not.

Re: Circumcision: What on earth are we doing to our children
I am not circumsized.

And I am hygenic. I simply pull the skin back EVERYDAY in the shower and clean it with my body wash or soap.

Nothing has ever happened to me; no infection, no pain, nothing. and I have never transmitted anything to any other girl.

It's wrong to say circumsized people are clean and men with foreskin are dirty. If you're dirty, you will always be dirty and spread disease; if you're clean habits (like me), not being circumsized will not be a problem.

CIRCUMCISON HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HYGIENE.

Only that Jews think it makes a bond with you and God.

What kind of God asks for that kind of bond????????

Not mine!!
