It means that He had power over Death, and is compelling evidence that He came for a purpose, that being that of redemption of mankind. Even in birth he was wrapped in swaddling clothes, those are grave clothes. It seemed that Jesus Christ whole purpose in life, was to give himself for our redemption, to purchase our salvation.
