Why is China building eerie "ghost cities?"

Needed to house displaced people from bombed out cities.

Its accually a good idea if they were to include self sufficaint living into the prebuilt community. If you had time to think of it all ahead of time and perfect it, you should be able create a perfect setup for living and working.

But they dont do that anywere.
Because of greed

or a near event that is coming :)

As the saying goes.

"If you build it, they will come!"

We the sheep think in weeks or days! Oh next week I must go shopping.

The elite think in generations, let's build a city or two now, so in 50 yrs when Western world falls, all of us(westerners) are going to hop on a junk boat and live in those cities working for rice.

The same people who built the French/British/German/Russian/American empires are now building up China.

The Mao revolution (MI5/CIA creation) created the perfect slave race in 2 generations. A model society according to the UN! Can't get better then prison factories. Bowl of rice and a 8' x 6' cell, ideal to the corporations.
Benefits? Ya, you don't work for free, 1 billion will do it if you don't. China will lead for a generation or two.

The reason why is because they ran out of money for building.

In the U.S., you get loans and you build. If you have cost overruns, you get more loans and finish building.

In China when you run out of money to build, you need to get more money first. When you don't get the money, you don't finish building. Which is why you see ghost towns.

I saw this 14 years ago when I visited China in ChengDu. Same situation.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, they have MOST LIKEL:Y followed the Russian example and built THREE levels below ground level, nuclear blast shelters for their most important ( ALL ? ) the people there. Americans are SO FAR BEHIND the times it IS SICKENING ! I built my nuclear blast shelter in the EARLY 1980s. Been sleeping better ever since; so have my children and the grandchildren.

My thoughts go this way-- Someone has already created SARS - a genetic kind of illness, made to kill.

Suppose some people in China became infected with a SARS like virus? Suppose they survived but could not come in contact with anyone who did not have antibodies? China would need cities for quarantine. This is one possibility.

Also- if the dam broke and there were some survivors - where would they live? There is rumor out there that the USA could cause the dam to break with HAARP technology.

Or, maybe all of this talk of a new world economy, of new Chinese money - maybe they are planning for an economic boom?

Let's hope they are not planning on taking in the Bush family as political prisoners or becoming a poliltical sactuary....

Instead of abandoning them 1/2 way through, they decided to protect their investments and finish them.

I don't think China's leaders are concerned so much about "statistics." What they are concerned about is converting their trillions of USD into hard assets. They have been on a breakneck spending spree in natural resources, raw materials, etc., but they also have slave labor at their disposal since their economy hasn't yet reached first world status, so they're using that slave labor to convert those raw materials and resources into actual useful things like entire cities which they know they'll need at some point. Better to build them now while they have plentiful slave labor than in 20 years when their economy will have improved to the point that the labor will have multiplied. It's a win-win for them, they get to get rid of their worthless FRNs while at the same time stimulating their internal economy by providing full employment to their people. Eventually when they become a first world economy, their middle class will occupy these cities and the one difference between them and us is that they will still have their manufacturing base. The benefit they are getting from converting trillions of USD into real assets will be the seed that propels their economy to 1980s American-style heights for HUNDREDS of years. It halfway makes me wish I were Chinese.

You mean there are countries who plan on growth and have secured it? WOW! Too bad mine doesn't.

They are "make work" projects -- the Chinese idea of "shovel ready" economic stimulus activities.

they do not show home occupation statistics

in fact the BS flag was hoisted because of the uk newspaper link which had a photo of large government buildings and claims that they are unsed... yet in the pics if you look close you can see hundreds of vehicles occupying the parking lot!

This sounds much more likely of a scenario.

Two possibilities....they are aware of the impending doom of civilization via some sort of destruction by fire, flood or meteor...or perhaps targeted cities by the U.S.A and Russia for Nuclear bombardment...this way, they can save the vast majority of their people. If there was a nuclear exchange, they could transfer the elite of their people THEN launch a nuclear attack against the U.S and Russia....we would retaliate hitting THEIR targets....lol....but not their NEW cities....they win....or they are aware of exactly what the doom is that's coming, and are aware of safe areas.....so just before it comes, they will transfer there elite to the new cities, or after the disaster, and the bunkers are open, they will have brand new, advanced cities in the wait for their peole to walk into....making them perhaps the only Government on earth prepared this way.....speculation about the U.s? Apparently there's no end to the underground bunkers....but nothing available out in the open for the average Joe.....just a hypothesis on my part...
