I have a G8 GT

thought about getting a GTO

but the g8 is so damn awesome!

Here they are referred to as a Commodore, and the coupe a Monaro.

I love em all. The smooth shape of the GT, and the bolder styling of the G8.

They dont make a coupe (yet) in the G8 styling, except for this concept, called Coupe 60.

We have a hottie division of Holden (who make these cars) called HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) and they take already wild cars and make em wilder agian, including a 427 version of the G8 and a wagon too. They are stunning cars and basically you can ask for as much HP as you can handle.

On the flip side, FORD make a car here called the Falcon, which is about Taurus sized. This has a twin overhead cam straight six with turbo (called XR6 T) and it is a very refined, rocket for want of a better word. Never engineered for LHD unfortunately, so you wont ever see it. Many aftermarket peeps use twin turbos. Most car mago's claim its the best bang for your buck on the planet. Awesome accelleration and very good handling to boot.

Look up the HSV and the Ford XR6 T (and G6E T) on giggle.

They do! and even come in a bigillion-jillion HP version - with a team of tyre guys to put new ones on every few miles.

I have a 2008 Mustang GT/CS...I am at 330rwhp with my mods.I love the GTO's as well. Have a friend with an 05 GTO putting down 600 to the rear wheels all motor. Replaced the stock 6.0 with a bigger motor, cams heads...all the things the LSX guys do.

I may have already done the commodore badge swap...people have no idea what it is...I love that. Holden fuckin rocks. grrr8.net is where I learned about all this.

Oh I forgot MY car. 2004 Mini cooper S. 15% pulley, Alta intake, Mini madness header, OBX exhaust. Yeah, 210 horse for a 2000lbs car... she's bad ass in the twisties and jumps on most mild V-8 stangs.

Insanely cramped. I had to drop the motor to do the supercharger pully. Head over to northamericanmotoring.com, the forums are top notch.

When you do the oil, you change the filter element... not the canister like most sane cars. The oil wrench in 32mm and it's a pain to get off. Most Mini's suffer from strut tower mushrooming, so look for that.

Overall, not a bad car to work on, the manual transmission is a getrag and are nearly bulletproof.

Get an "S", don't bother with just-a-coopers. 2001-2006 you get the s/c and 2007 on gets the turbo. I love the whine and it gets louder with more mods.

Can your 14b put down 500 horse on 87 octane and still get 25mpg? Nope.

I looked at 3 coopers before getting my indi blue beauty. All the rest had a mushroom. The prevention is strut tower plates from M7. The previous owner installed them on day one.
