The Baltic Dry Index has teased us before. And yet, stocks continue their inexplicable rise. All evidence points to the fact that we're actually IN a Depression (10 percent of homes unoccupied, huge amounts of mortgages underweater, 750K people "dropped out" of the labor force in the past two months, yet they announce unemployment is LOWER, prices up but paychecks down, states and municipalities verging on bankruptcy...), but still the Fed pumps in the funny money and buys up the worthless toxic mortgages, thus "cleansing" bank balance sheets, allowing them to pay bonuses while more homeowners are foreclosed upon.

I won't believe the Baltic Dry Index until it gives us a ring and a date.
