maybe as a side note, im not really sure if it might be related....

dated back in the 1980s years, my parents were reading through all this new age esoteric books and stuff, and i read some books and material back then as well...


as i said, im not that sure any more where i read it, but i think i remember some kind of nostradamus, edgar cayce or some other source, that spoke of some cosmological events in the nearer future (end of millennium as a hypothesis back then), that some kind of red dust, fire/flame "clouds" or some sun outburst, solarflames or whatever similar event (fiery and/or toxic cloud....) would take place....

the idea in those texts back then was that earth would pass through some kind of fire clouds, toxix cosmic dust, would be staying in it for a little while, like days or weeks....


some other side notes back then was that there would be a appearing some real freshwater problem on earth, and some crazy ideas about especially women being affected on planet earth or such....


i dont really recall the source any more, but in the light of this thread, this somehow could make real sense, if one would regard this comet tail/come theory and such and the earth passing through it, as a possible reason to my readings back then....


maybe someone else remembers any of my quotings about these fiery clouds and poisoned freshwater, problems for women and such stuff.... maybe somone can unearth the source of what i am kinda remembering from many years back.....



and maybe this really does make sense by now if there is really anything into this elenin comet and its tail and the possibility that earth would be engulfed in its tail coma and or affected by electrical discharges outbursts, flames (chicago fires 1871 etc. and huge firestormes descending from upon the skype, eyewittness reports etc.)......


if elenin would wreck even more havoc than those comet hypotheses from back in chicago and the u.s. and create such effects on a planetary scale.

I do however have a question if you don't mind giving me a layman answer. If I were to accept the electric comet theory as opposed to the dirty snowball theory, then what would be the difference between a comet and an asteroid? Would they not be made of the same materials?

They ARE the same as asteroids. The difference is asteroids are in equilibrium with their environment whereas comets are unbalanced are are discharging and removing material from its surface and then subsequently ionizing it to maintain equilibrium.

The comet, at the first of the two meetings reconstructed in Worlds in Collision, touched the earth with its gaseous tail, and one of the first signs of the encounter was a rain of fine, rusty pigment. The world turned red.

“All the waters that were in the river,” reads the Book of Exodus, “were turned to blood.” The Manuscript Quiche’ of the Mayas tells of the rivers turning to blood, and so does the Papyrus Ipuwer of the Egyptians. Then, as the story continues in the Visuddhi-Magga of the Buddhists, the fine dust turned to coarse dust, “and then fine sand, and then coarse sand, and then grit, stones, up to boulders as large... as mighty trees on the hilltops.”

And with the shower of meteorites the earth stopped turning.

"It came to rest so faced to the sun that a long night, darkened by the cosmic refuse sweeping in from interplanetary space, fell on Europe, Africa, the Americas, and the valleys of the Euphrates and the Indus.

The Babylonians, the tribes of the Sudan, the Finns, the Greeks, the Peruvians, and the American Indians all have traditions of a long night accompanying a catastrophe which the earth did not survive.

Further east, the Iranians saw the sun suspended several days in the sky. In china, it is said that in the reign of the Emperor Yahou the sun did not set for a number of days and all the forests burned."

When a comet encounters a planet, it may become entangled and drawn from its path, then forced into a new orbit, and finally liberated.

This is what happened to Lexell’s comet, which was captured by Jupiter and its moons in 1767 and did not free itself until 1779. Some form of balance between attraction and inertia was maintained for twelve years; Jupiter and the comet did not crash together. Neither, according to Dr. Velikovsky’s thesis, did the earth and the comet that came near it in 1500 b.c. They exchanged discharges of electrical potential.

Here is what Dr. Velikovsky’s description of the pageant that took place in the sky:

When the tidal waves reached their highest point, and the seas were torn apart,
a tremendous spark flew between the earth and the globe of the comet, which
instantly pushed down the miles-high billows. Meanwhile, the tail of the comet and
its head, having become entangled with each other by their close contact with the
earth, exchanged violent discharges of electricity. It looked like a battle between the brilliant globe and the dark column of smoke. In the exchange of electrical potentials, the tail and the head were attracted one to the other and repelled one from the other.


From the serpent like tail extensions grew, and it lost the form of a column. It now looked like a furious animal with legs and many heads. The discharges tore the column to pieces, a process that was accompanied by the brilliant globe buried in the sea, or wherever the meteorites fell. The gases of the tail subsequently enveloped the earth.


It is Dr. Velikovsky’s contention that over three thousand years ago Nature performed a great experiment, in which it was demonstrated that the electromagnetic laws are as supreme in the heavens as they are inside the atom.

“Dr. Velikovsky finds evidence for new planets appearing in the sky,” wrote Mr. O’Neill, “and for the earth being struck by and passing through tails of comets.... [His work] presents a stupendous panorama of terrestrial and human history which will stand as a challenge to scientists to frame a realistic picture of the cosmos.

A charged body which rotates creates a magnetic field. The sun is a charged body, and it rotates, and charged particles arrive from it in a continuous stream. The earth is a charged body, and it rotates, and it possesses a magnetic field. If the magnetic field of the sun were to govern the earth’s motion, then after an encounter with a comet the earth could resume its rotation, though on a changed orbit. If it is true that the comet and the earth exchanged electrical discharges, as Dr. Velikovsky maintains that they did, then there may be even reason to suppose that the earth’s “inertia” is electrical in character.

The guys said their boat had been hit by meteors or asteroids or "rocks from the sky"." He said he heard it on one radio station driving home and then on a tv news broadcast. He said after that, when he heard the news again, there was no mention of what made the boat sink. I am going to try and research it myself to see if I can get any more information. My other son, reminded me that was what happened in "Armageddon"-the smaller meteors started to fall from the sky before they found the big one. Will keep you posted. Hmmm, with no real education in this area, I would say:

1.) Mother Shipton's Prophecies - proven hoax?
2.) A Comet cannot "spiral before hitting the Earth" due to the speed it is travelling. If it is NOT captured by the Sun's pull as it travels past it, then it would be impossible for the Earth to capture it (unless we are in the cross-hairs).
3.) NEA's (I would think) would be another story as they do not travel as fast and could spiral in??

I used to be able to post there, but now they're not letting me do that anymore. Save the Oceans has an electric comet thread going there, and he was asking for information about large comets and what they're capable of doing when they cruise past Earth.

I recommend "Planet X, Comets & Earth Changes" by James McCanney for a detailed explanation, but there are also some good interviews available on the Internet. Search for James McCanney comets. Here are a couple good ones:

Some comets can be VERY large, such as the comet that became the planet Venus, apparently around 1600 B.C. at the time of Exodus. McCanney contends that Earth was also a comet before it settled into the solar system. He also alleges that the Sun and Jupiter were the original members of the solar system, and the other planets were added later as they fell into the Sun's gravitational field. Hale-Bopp was an extremely large comet that would have wiped out civilization on Earth if the Earth had been three months slower in its orbit around the Sun.

Hi OP, I was trying to figure out where Elenin was in space to see if you could see it. Google blocked it out (5h 53m 27s, -6 10' 56) and I do not know what I am really looking for (don't know how you folks do it...so many dots)??

What I did find when I put these new coordinates (11 58 15.9, -01 04 30) into the Aladin site I get 7 different pictures. The picture that has me wondering what the hell it is: [link to aladin.u-strasbg.fr]
If you look at the top left you see a "bird-like" object that could be Elenin??

Can anyone tell me if this is Elenin??

Now, these coordinates were for Elenin on 17-Feb-2011 and I put these coordinates in on 20-Feb-2011 (22:30 CET (UTC +1)).

All other 7 photographs for those coordinates do not seem have the object in the picture (maybe very faint) and it looks totally wierd.
