In a study done once on Vegetarians, Vegans and Meat eaters. It was found the healthiest was the Vegetarian who didn't eat meat but ate seafood and dairy. |

When I started eating cooked foods again, the allergies returned with a vengeance...but it's hard to avoid eating cooked foods unless you can afford it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1259530Its so hard to lose weight, but this looks kind of cool. [link to www.facebook.com] Anybody tried it? Have my husband on a diet of salad made up of fruit and salad veg with some hot fish for lat 4 weeks and he has lost 9lbs. really works and healthy too. Also make sure you have spinach or something similar, or you will become iron deficient or take iron tablets. Just need to make sure you take extra fibre or can get bunged up, if you know what I mean, lol!! |

the Quetzal User ID: 1257694 Canada 02/08/2011 03:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | IMO, its not sustainable for a long term diet... most raw foodies in the 'scene' these days have added cooked vegan food back in their diet. To clean yourself out and lose weight however, it is a FANTASTIC diet. Just use your head, dont get sucked into supplements and all that...just eat clean raw organic (if you can) and think WHOLE foods. [link to www.lovingraw.com] |

Sophie User ID: 1102582 Canada 02/08/2011 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I tried it for a year and I agree, it's really hard to sustain. You have to eat lots of bananas, avocados and nuts to stay full. I lost weight and had a glow. I was asked a lot to make appearances at raves. One thing, though now I eat normally I still would rather have a raw piece of fruit rather than desert and sometimes I just have salad and fruit for lunch. The diet makes you realise what a lot of crap it is, (the normal diet) that we are brainwashed in to eating. |

I look much younger, no gray hair and I stay naturally thin. Right now I am a vegetarian I use cream in my coffee. I say get rid of processed foods, eat 80% raw, don't drink soda and the weight will naturally come off. |

I tried it for a week, and it cost only 1/4th my usual budget. Revelation 1:7 "Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen." Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look on Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." |

Menace2society User ID: 1235294 United States 02/08/2011 04:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Raw food is not for human consumption anymore, we have evolved due to our cooking of food, thus our colons have shrunk over the years as a result of cooking food, cooking denatures proteins for easier absorption. while there may be some loss of vitamin potency, the inability of our digestive system to absorb raw foods nutrients is the greater evil. fire good primate raw food eaters ( gorilla's ) have huge colons for absorbing the nutrients, but the most definitive difference between primates, and us is not colon, or even brain size....but JAW size...look at the teeth and jaws of the gorilla...massive in comparison. but i digress...the answer is yes ...you will lose weight from the raw diet ....because you will be starving yourself of calories and nutrients. All that we are is a result of what we have thought. The Dhammapada " your kind of a dick" is a understatement |

Menace2society User ID: 1235294 United States 02/08/2011 05:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cooking enabled our jaws, teeth and guts to shrink, freeing up calories to fuel our expanding brains, which happens when you increase the digestibility and energy absorption. "the shift from raw to cooked foods was the key factor in human evolution. When our ancestors adapted to using fire, humanity began. Once our hominid ancestors began cooking their food, the human digestive tract shrank and the brain grew. Time once spent chewing tough raw food could be sued instead to hunt and to tend camp. Cooking became the basis for pair bonding and marriage, created the household, and even led to a sexual division of labor." I've gone vegetarian because I no longer trust the safety of fish, living on the Gulf Coast. Raw desserts rock!!! |

Jennifer User ID: 1253176 United States 02/09/2011 01:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I did a raw juice diet for 90 days...lost weight. 1. you must plan ahead 2. organic food is preferred, but very expensive 3. you can get protein from greens 4. works best with very little fruit, eat mostly vegetables 5. no grains 6. no alcohol or caffeine 7. vita-mix.......makes it all possible......worth it green drinks ....google it I agree with previous posters....most eventually add in raw dairy- butter, raw yogurt, and pasture eggs...... do lots of research-- at first you can suffer headaches, fever, etc. they are cleansing reactions....go slowly and they won't be as bad. It's the poisons leaving your body. A good first step to ease into it is to eliminate all sugar and flour from diet. |
