Quoting: Hannibal The CannibalI know somebody who took 950mg within a few hours whilst drinking alcohol. omg I'm certain I would die if I took 100mg. I'm surprised he lived through it. I took that stuff for a few weeks all the while getting worse too, and perhaps also the "patch" for pain that was taken off the market, I can't remember the name, probably also brought me harm. Vicodin is not so great either. Mother nature provided us with medicines that are safe, they evolved with man here, and believe me, having learned the hard way, we should not even use man's laboratory pain relievers or any other drugs created in the lab. Do not use the drugs for diabetes either. Darvon has been taken off the market, another pain reliever I used many years ago. Do not use anything not of the Mother. I had terrible problems also with the NSAIDS that are NOT of nature. |

I was joking, i have had one of the 200mg slow release capsules before, made me tired. yeah right, what was I thinking 950 mgs would kill a horse. I guess I'm just in that severe side effects group. |

I was only given 50 mg, once I took it, my pain got worse. Stupid me, I thought my condition was getting worse. So I took more, what a bad decision. Quoting: death causing pain med 1133830My abdomen and lungs starting hurting something terrible. I couldn't go to sleep because of the fear of losing consciousness or dying. I literally felt like I was going to stop breathing. I finally realized wth was going on and stopped. 1 week after stopping, I still have chest pain and am kind of twitchy. These synthetic narcotics are crap,..I've heard some people do well with them. But they are still really addictive. If your Dr. trys to give Tramadol in lieu of morphine, don't do it. Messes with the serotonin too much. thats the problem |

I add a pill or two if the pain gets bad, but luckily that doesn't happen too often. Hate morphine too. I am extremely depressed on it. The only good that came of it was that it helped me forget some really awful pain, in spurts anyway. I actually got better once they got me off that crap. Also, hydrocodone is some evil shit. It works, at first. Then you need more and more for the same effects..like most pain drugs..The withdrawals are just awful. Prepare for sleep, sweating, depression,no sleep, ... |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1133830 United States 02/13/2011 08:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just took 3 tramadol. They don't do much for me. Percoset makes me sick. I hate it. Fortunately, the chemo has been working for me. So I haven't had to take much of anything. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1107221Ahh, I'm sorry. I feel like a dweeb for talking about pain relief from kidney stones. Wishing you the best. |

Tramadol isn't exactly top choice for prescribing Physicians any more. Quoting: EggNigmaGet off it if you can mate. you know that's funny, cause it seemed synthetic narcotics are the first choice, (talking with a nurse at the er) due to problems w/addiction and all that. Yet tramadol can be just as addictive. luckily I'm not addicted. I was worried maybe it was due to Pharma kickbacks or something. But this drug isn't really new. |

I am married and have three kids, one grown and just married and two still 11 and 12 to raise. I got my neck broken on a oil rig years ago and have had surgery's on it three times. I Have have had the worst pain and headache for a love time, to the point I am sick of it. I see a pain doctor and I now take 5 methadone and 7-10 loratab 10Mg a day. I was just told my liver is starting to show signs of trouble. I am in a bad place, I hurt so bad and need the meds but at the same time they are killing me. I didn't start out on so much but as the years go by it takes more and more to get the same kind of help from it. |

It would help my back pain somewhat but then give me headaches, like you I would take a few more. I was prescribed to take 6 a day and would sometimes take 8 or even 10. I know it was stupid but I became addicted to them. The last year I was taking them I couldn't breath. I couldn't sleep because I couldn't breath while lying down. I quit them about a year and a half ago and it took about 6 months or so for all the effects to go away. I wish you luck and hope you break free form this crappy drug. |
