I have chronic pain. Tramadol used to work for me but nowadays it does nothing for my pain and then gives me nausea the following day. I prefer opioids but doctors are less willing to prescribe them--other than when I lived in Spain and a doctor told me flat out to stop messing about with crap that doesn't work and to take codeine when I need it. He said that it was far less harmful than any of the synthetics and that he thought that I was intelligent enough to not become addicted.

What really works for my type of pain is deep massage and osteopathy but I don't have the means to pay for them and the medical system prefers that you take their drugs rather than deal with the root cause of the problem.
