Thank you for keeping us novices apprised, OP. I'm starting to learn quite a bit on this topic from multiple posters who are staying on top of this!

I need a book: Solar Doom for Dummies ;) In all seriousness, the only solar doom I recall (some might remember) in the early part of the last decade, didn't a CME take out a fairly large chunk of the nation's western electrical grid?
