Lets see....the sun is goin a bit nuts with flares and whatnot...there have been lots of EQS,....asteroid impacts of late too....
Then these articles come out about a huge planet moving through the Oort cloud as we speak.
I WONDER WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON?
that was sarcasm:)

This object called Tych is in the Oort cloud somewhere about 15000 AU from earth. We will get a better view of it in about 100 years.

The Oort cloud is just outside our solar system. On a map it looks close, but in reality it would take us decades to reach it with our best rockets/probes.

Its so far away we don't have the technology to image it. You will only see artist renderings...lol

If you are looking for an object to be in the inner solar system next year, this ain't it!

We at GLP can tell the entire world, "Told Ya So"!!!
 Quoting: Jackie Blue

...No, you can't.

Because something nearly a lightyear from us does not 'Nibiru' make.

This is merely another interpretation of Nemesis, the supposed star that resides in the Oort cloud 50,000 to 100,000 AU away. It remains hypothetical, as it hasn't been found.

I suppose the definition's changed again. It's moved from Orion, to behind the Sun, to the Southern Hemisphere, to at the edge of our goddamn solar system. And it's gone from planet to brown dwarf to comet to red dwarf and to brown dwarf again.

Anything to keep your cute little theory relevant. Not my fault you can't read.

You people really need to make up your mind where exactly this fictitious planet is before you proceed to slaughter every known maxim of planetary science desperately trying to justify your pseudo-scientific drivel.

First off, they haven't FOUND anything, Einstein. They THINK they MIGHT. As for not finding it prior to now, it's 375 times further from the Earth than Pluto is, so that's not really a big fucking surprise, now is it? The only data they have suggesting it's existence is Comet paths that deviate from the Theory of Galactic Tide, which could be due to something else entirely.

It's incredibly far out, if it even exists. So far, in fact, that it may not even be considered part of our Solar System at all. By some definitions, the edge of the Solar System is the Heliosphere which is only about 100 a.u. out (or 100 times as far away from the Sun as the Earth), though it varies since it's not actually shaped like a sphere.

That is what I detest about conspiracy buffs on the whole, they denigrate the scientific community in favor of retards like Nancy Lieder. However, the second they find any (even obscure) data from a guy with a PhD that helps their feeble cause, science is their buddy again.

It is really quite comical, albeit totally predictable.

And yet people like you can not seem to tear yourselves away from the loony bin.

Actually, my recommendation is that the Zeta folks take a trip down to their local community college and enroll in an intro/freshman level astronomy course. Just a conceptual one that does not involve math will suffice.

upon completion, I am supremely confident they will see their error in judgment and rationale. If they can't afford the tuition, then even an afternoon in a public library with some appropriate books would go a long way ( I have several that I can recommend for newbies.)

Astronomy and Physics are not nearly the academic boogie man that people in the social science departments make them out to be, and I think it would do many people a world of good.

All I know is that when I arrived on GLP in late 2002 searching for some sign of PX, none was to be found. It was all some strange Nancy Lieder/Mark Greenwood deal. Debunkers ran amuck over this issue year after year using Y2K as a easy scapegoat.

Now in this year,...we get stuff like this in the press. Thanks OP. I really do not know what this means but to me,...it is like a fuzzy picture becoming clearer and clearer.

If that is your position ("Don't confuse me with the facts, as my mind is made up") then no amount of rational discussion involving astronomy can help you.

There are plenty of fringe concepts in physics and astronomy that have some actual basis for inquiry such as string theory, anthropic principle, various subsets of quantum mechanics and sub atomic theory, etc.

They might not be as appealing since they do not involve global cataclysm, but I would be much happier seeing people interested in something tangible.

Until then, I will be eagerly awaiting your peer reviewed dissertation on the scientific merits of a planet X collision. My guess is I will be waiting a long time.

Re: ***NEWSFlash**** NIBIRU official NOW !!! on fkn CNN! BUMP this WTF don't panic lol

Do rational discussion and a fringe website on the internet really have anything in common in your mind?? Why??

If I sought out what you were selling, I would find myself reading and posting on hard science websites like Bad Astronomy or some such,... but I'm not.

I make no bones about searching for PX after reading and enjoying fringe books on the topic. I came to GLP in 2002 to discuss the matter with like-minded people without the taint of academia.

I do not apologize for any of this,....to the contrary, it has been a blessing.

And now here we are in 2011 in this thread on a brown-dwarf star here-to-fore unheard of,… that may or may not be PX and you seem perplexed as to why I should be discussing it at all.

My God Man,...it is not your job to save the planet, there are millions of website where you may find kinship and comfort in your scientific dogma.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
