Reincarnation is believed to occur when the soul or spirit, after the death of the body, comes back to life in a newborn body.
John the Baptist
Matthew 11:14 "And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come.
So Yahoshua is saying that Elijah came back into John, remember the Holy Spirit was in John before birth.
Yahoshua say's if you are willing to accept it. The reason he says this is that this was not a norm or an accepted belief in his day.

So this does not seem to support the definition of reincarnation. Now if scripture had shown us that Elijah died and then at some later date his Spirit entered into John The Baptist, this would be clear evidence of reincarnation.
