The Magnetospere looks white hot right now. Is it better for it to look white hot like that or is better for it to look wispy? I have seen it almost disappear and just look very wispy but then that must be a bad thing, meaning it isn't doing anything to shield us. When it is white hot, does that mean it is shielding us?

When the solar winds and Density is low, the magnetosphere is under little pressure and turns darker blue.

When the solar winds and density is high, the magnetosphere is under high pressure and turns white.

the white hot you see, is from a mixture of 2 pieces of data
solar wind speed and density
the higher each are, that is when you see the simulation image turn white
when its "whispy" or ghost like, look at the solar wind speed, and the amount of density
you will see that it is very low

the higher the solar wind speed and density, the more pressure thats on earths magnetosphere
so when you see the white, thats pressure
i suggest looking at the wind speed and density amounts
and what it makes the image look like
do this for a week or 2, and you will totally see hot the pressure goes up, then back down
depending on the wind speed, and density :)
its super late at night here and im very tired, so i do hope i said that the right way ^^
