They say the biggest difference between Europe and US:

* In the US they think 100 years is a long time.

* In Europe they think 100KM is a long distance.

Oil prices effect US much harder than Europe.
 Quoting: Fingulas 1271167

Yep- but the Europeans can't grasp it cause they don't have a concept of the vastness of America- especially the American West.

I commute the European equivalent of driving across Germany and France just to get to work. In other words, 25 gallons at $3.00 per gallon lasts me 2 days.

It hit's WAY harder here in America than over there in their little micro-countries.
 Quoting: Dundas

Most Europeans just don't understand. They are just ignorant about the United States and how vast it actually is.

That will come to screeching halt soon , might want to ask your boss about car camping in the parking lot. Its not like you are going to afford to drive and pay your house bills when the price rockets up to over 6 a gallon. Well thats assuming you are not one of the 90 % of superflous employess in service/retail. LOL

The world is absolutely swimming in oil. Once the politics stabilize again, crude will quickly drop to $75-80.

As per the predictions of Quasi-Moto, its all over. Justin Bieber
in his 'never say never' movie just announced $200 oil.
I really wonder if that dipshit bernanke wanted to see every corrupt
regime on earth topple as food and energy prices
bankrupt the rich and weak alike?
Did the guy that failed to see the housing song by Michael Buble
just fail to see the regime swan song in every despotic nation
on earth? Congrats ben, hope you were long oil futures going into
this weekend.

This is true, but now the pools of oil are down too deep to get to with our equipment. The cheap oil is gone and thank God. Digging and burning the Earth to make and sell junk could not be more destructive to the biosphere. We will all have to adapt to a new world soon.

Re: NOW -- Oil going through the roof and US markets closed
controlling the oil is critical because countries are required to have USD in reserve if they want to participate in global oil cartel.

I am not in the least bit afraid of what comes down the pipes as I know that the Lord God is Sovereign, and so I take refuge and shelter in Him, my High tower and Salvation! It is always good to be prepared, but not all preparation pertains to our physical needs, and spiritual preparation is even more important than the other I think.

But it is never a bad time to sow seeds, and why not now so they will be there if you ever need them? Buy local and fresh, do not buy anything made in China or any other oppressive nation which denies the people an unfair/unjust wage aka economic slavery(It seems that Marx was right about the nature of the problem being class struggle between the working class and those that control resources and systems of productivity), suppresses the people and derives them of the inalienable God-given dignity and regard that all Persons are deserved.

If you are a business owner or CEO why don't you try paying a generous and just wage to the work horses that you often view as merely means to productivity and profit.

If you have been blessed with abundance then share with others what has been so freely given to you, it could be you in their shoes remember. It is critical that the charity of people really shines in these times, because if we don't look out for one another, then there will not be anyone to look out for us. If you have plenty of food why not donate to the local soup kitchen or food bank? There are a lot of people in dire situations right now and these Oasis's of love and hope in this world are drying up because the charity of the people is drying up instead of rising to meet the need, and we need love now more than ever, and I am not talking about the idea of love which is so prominent in the Hollywood misconceptions, media misdirections, materialistic false-Madonnas.

What is love? God is love, and He is the source of all love, so we must turn and connect with Him if we are to be vessels of faith, hope and charity in this dimming world, as it rejects the Gospel of Christ, and His love and truth, which is light, and reverts back to the dark days of hedonism and godlessness, this neopaganism tempered with technology, science, and dictatorship, has been brought about by the corrupting of our societal institutions, including our traditions, mores, values, and taboos, through liberal public education and liberal self-perpetuating, self-promoting centers of higher learning called Universities, through mass deception by media, by music and movies, and with the help of experts with titles, suits, and lab coats.

This rapid departure from 'traditional' notions to the modern and postmodern ideas promoted and perpetuated today suggest that this generation stands at the precipice of a profound shift in consciousness which is by no means a natural shift, but a fraudulent hijacking of the Zeitgeist of this generation at the behest of certain special private interests. Who stands to benefit from materialism, naturalism, relativism, hedonism, godlessness, nihilism, etc?

We all know the major players, but have we helped them in corrupting and destroying so much that is good in the world? Have we implicitly, complicity, consensually, or causally participated in the mechanisms of death and oppression? We are ripples, and our lives have far-reaching consequences, for better, or worse, and we will all expand and reverberate to infinity, for better, or worse.

A side note on being faithful stewards, and leaving this place better than we found it: If we were able to rally around certain fundamental principles like human dignity, and vote with our dollars, with enough people, it would be a force for social change that is a formidable ally, or foe. This is the idea behind my website [link to www.purchaseinpower.com,] which is not finished as I need help with it, if you are interested in helping to web master the site, contribute content, then drop me an e-mail, as if this idea took off the ground we could wield some leverage against the Corporations whose sole allegiance is to profit and self-perpetuation.
