“There are naturally occurring bacteria [in the Gulf]: Alcanivorax borkumensis, for example. The problem is that, in their wisdom, some of our scientists have decided to see if they can tinker with the genes of these bacteria to see if it could eat oil better. So, now we have bio-engineered bacteria out there chomping oil. Does anybody have any idea what this does to people?
