Hi AC: ...BTW, this forum thread is active to date, so you don't need to write to any institutes, instead you may register at the forum and address directly to Leonid Elenin (member LeonidOS). I think he would be glad to answer your questions - as well as other forum members, although many of them are amateur astronomers, they seems to be well educated persons.
P.S. These pages are in russian, so you can babelfish them to get more detailed picture with this comet discovery.
