According toWikipedia, The decline of the Roman Empire refers to the societal collapse encompassing both the gradual disintegration of the political, economic, military, and other social institutions of Rome and the barbarian invasions that were its final doom in Western Europe.

It took about 300 ys for a 2000yr old empire to crumble.

The US is about 200 yrs old and we are demonstating the same traits as a roman empire in collapse. We have become a welfare state that has entitlements accouting for much of our debt. We keep the population busy with american idol, life stlye and decadence of Hollywood stars and a nation in war footing. Don’t foget football.

The romans used the arena and the game to calm the population. We use TV and a mainstream medai that would rather report scandle and whether this hollywood star is doing drugs than the African genocide of a population.

Our leaders are worried about profit. The banks too big to fail, the major corporations who make problems and people disappear. These corporation control via lobbyist and donation the very politicans we elect. It all a illusion.

The US is still fighting a war on two fronts yet we hear very little about it compared to the feel good stories on reality TV. Our President is no better than the last who is no better than the ones before him. If is my belief that even if a politican has the peoples views at heart he or she becomes drunk from the power and control of DC.

I don’t have an answer to the obvious but do know there is a world storm on the horizon. It is not going to be pretty. It is going to be violent and ugly. In Hati the dead lined the streets for days and kids played next to them. I see the same fate for us.

Religion will drive the next war. I fear a crusade coming. Christian vs Muslem vs Jew vs non- believers. There will be no winners.

It ironic, mankind is like a virus on the face of the palnet. Multiplying and destoying the host unit the virus can nto survive anymore only to wait semi dorment until the virus springs back to life.
