Massive Earthquake - Christchurch, NZ Just Now!!

I haven't wanted to say anything, just lurking here, horrified by the extent of the damage and sending my thoughts and prayers to all the people

NZ and AU have been through so much in the past year...it is reaching the point of being surreal.

I don't want to clog a thread with pointless observations. all I wish to do is send my love and concern to all the residents of NZ. Your beautiful and peaceful country will recover, but you can't help but be shaken.

Our world is so fragile. We need to remember how quickly human settlements can be rattled by mother Nature. In our hubris we forget that nature is in charge, and we live by her grace. Let us be grateful for every moment we have of peace and prosperity, and remember to share it with others while we have it. Soon enough, it may be our turn to be reminded of our mortality and our precarious positions on this earth.

Not so lucky for an elderly couple in ChCh
who phoned a radio station around 11.30 pm tonight.
They are trapped up a hillside after evacuating their
home and they are sitting in their car
which is rocking due to aftershocks.
They cant drive down out of there as it is night time
and there is no road lighting.
The man was close to tears you could hear it in
his voice but they are staying with the car at least till morning. It is very cold there but they have managed
to get some blankets and items from the house between aftershocks.
They are extremely distressed and feeling a sense
of total despair over their predicament but also
worrying about their old cat.
They have NO water nothing to drink.
I am not even sure they have any food.


Pray for them.
