Union dues go STRAIGHT to the party.....and you KNOW it. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1273798And you are one total butthead. I am not EVEN in a UNION. Grow up you _____ Everyone please stop blaming the Democrats, the Unions, the Presidents. Dig deeper. Don't be duped. Please everyone READ THIS: I have posted this in a few places in Wisconsin threads. These are my words, then farther below a Forbes article which follows the money in this situation. Follow the money, multi billionaries paying funds to the Wisconsin Governor as a campaign contribution. They and others like them are attempting to stop every regulatory agency, every policing agency - by gutting the funding for them. The Koch brothers have some of the dirtiest polluting industries and guess what no one is touching them. People like that should be made to clean up their act. Also, rather than castrate workers rights and cause nurses and teachers to stay stuck at a low wage, the top % should give just a little fraction of what they have made. The few in the very top income bracket should be made to pay a small % to help fund the recovery of this nation. They have made their billions on the backs of Americans workers - or more likely shipped the jobs somewhere else. They do not care. - Planetbarb (me) Forbes busines article posted below. =========================================================== FORBES Business [link to blogs.forbes.com] ________________________________________ Koch Brothers Behind Wisconsin Effort To Kill Public Unions Feb. 18 2011 - 6:45 pm | 151,492 views | By RICK UNGAR As the nation focuses on the efforts of Governor Scott Walker to take away collective bargaining rights from public employees in Wisconsin, new information is coming to light that reveals what is truly going on here. Mother Jones is reporting that much of the funding behind the Walker for Governor campaign came from none other than uber-conservatives, the infamous Koch Brothers. What’s more, the plan to kill the unions is right out of the Koch Brothers play book. Koch-backed groups like Americans for Prosperity, the Cato Institute, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and the Reason Foundation have long taken a very antagonistic view toward public-sector unions. Several of these groups have urged the eradication of these unions. The Kochs also invited Mark Mix, president of the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, an anti-union outfit, to a June 2010 confab in Aspen, Colorado; Via Mother Jones If you are reluctant to believe that this is a coordinated attack, consider this- This afternoon, Marty Beil, executive director of the Wisconsin Public Workers Union, sent a message to the Governor’s office agreeing to the cuts to pension & welfare benefits sought by Walker in his bill. The governor’s response was “nothing doing.” He wants the whole kit and kaboodle – the end of the collective bargaining rights of the public unions. As noted in my earlier post, this is, indeed, the first shot in the final battle to end unionism in America. UPDATE: The Americans for Prosperity group, a Tea Party group that is a Koch Brothers front, has put up a website and petition called www.standwithwalker.com. The website attacks all collective bargaining – not just for public employees’ unions. Americans for Prosperity is also organizing a rally tomorrow in Wisconsin to support Gov. Walker. Why are the Koch Brothers so interested in Wisconsin? They are a major business player in the state. This from Think Progress: Koch owns a coal company subsidiary with facilities in Green Bay, Manitowoc, Ashland and Sheboygan; six timber plants throughout the state; and a large network of pipelines in Wisconsin. While Koch controls much of the infrastructure in the state, they have laid off workers to boost profits. At a time when Koch Industries owners David and Charles Koch awarded themselves an extra $11 billion of income from the company, Koch slashed jobs at their Green Bay plant: Officials at Georgia-Pacific said the company is laying off 158 workers at its Day Street plant because out-of-date equipment at the facility is being replaced with newer, more-efficient equipment. The company said much of the new, papermaking equipment will be automated. [...] Malach tells FOX 11 that the layoffs are not because of a drop in demand. In fact, Malach said demand is high for the bath tissue and napkins manufactured at the plant. You really have to wonder how long it will take for Tea Party devotees to realize just how badly they are being used. |

Congress created the incentive to relocate abroad. Congress created the laws that spawned the largest spread between rich and poor this world has ever seen. Now, think...who controls Congress- that is where the REAL ENEMY lies. |

Forever the Student User ID: 1269970 United States 02/22/2011 03:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Unions issue is a distraction.... The goal of the elites is to destroy what little is left of the republic and freedom. And they're coming at it from a dozen different directions. They want us to fight with each other... while ignoring them. Don't be fooled. If not riots... for any number of reasons... then oil prices / oil availability or food prices or the environment or unrestrained spending / bankrupcy or devalued dollar or lost savings / retirement or unsecured borders / illegals or class driven infighting.. or "terrorism" or police state... or "the republic has been corrupt since the founding" and the list goes on and on... THESE ARE ALL DISTRACTIONS. If I pay someone to commit a crime... (collusion) I am as guilty as the one executing the crime. Responsibility all funnels back to the elites (a minority of wealthy families) The blood of the innocents is on their hands... and anyone who cooperates with them, regardless of "reward", or not. Iraq, Iran, Libya, Tunisia, ect... ALL the death / suffering is on the elites. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1130234 United States 02/22/2011 03:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Union issue is a ruse to divide and conquer. It is being used to create division in the middle class for a civil war that one seer has described as making the first civil war look like a kindergarten brawl. It is suggested that the Cock Brothers are ready to start this war soon and that the events in Wisconsin might be the "tipping point". |

Needless to say, it was hardly in the news for more than a minute and that was mostly to say what a good boy he was - then he was off scott free. The thing about these huge private corporations is that they fly under the radar. How many people out walking the street have heard of companies such as Kock or Cargill? Yet, they are still major players in the chess game. [link to www.newyorker.com] |

Yet, they are still major players in the chess game. Quoting: Faith[link to www.newyorker.com] Very very good info and good points. Hadn't heard that story. I don't claim to be so terribly well informed on who the major players are... but I try to keep up with things.. Never ever heard of the Koch brothers 'til I recently saw in - depth coverage on MSNBC. Two times now. They are trying to get the word out because too much cause and efect to ignore this. This is the stuff of Congressional Hearings. There is a chance that Bill might pass into law in Wisconsin. Koch brothers are behind that. That is why the people are in the street. And of course the opposition tries to call them "rioters" and to demonize the Labor movement. Labor is already C.A.B. castrated beyond belief. People like this, Kock of the world - sitting on their trillions, have caused so much suffering in America and it is all protected in the name of free enterprise. They are free to destroy and pollute and outsource and whatever they want to. Bringing pressure to bear on politicians stirring up the rabble influencing elections... all to save themselves a buck and amass more power for themselves. Please keep on speaking up and posting what U know... - Planetbarb Last Edited by planetbarb on 02/23/2011 04:14 PM |
