Check "wet moon" I'm aware of the wet and dry moon phases, but I don't see how it could change so drastically in just 2.5 weeks. I distinctly remember seeing the cheshire or "full wet" moon on Feb. 4th and now it is way further towards "dry" than it should be. |

Check "wet moon" Not again...please! I know about the wet and dry moons. However, it gradually switches from wet in the winter (in n. hemisphere) to dry in the summer. I have observed it for several weeks and it has gone from full on wet to almost dry in the last two weeks. If you can explain this, please do. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1149306 United States 02/25/2011 11:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When it was "dry" where in the sky was it? Was it high up? The Moon will appear to rotate up to 180 degrees throughout the night. It does this because your perspective changes. When it rise you are looking East, when high you are looking south (if in the northern hemispher) and when it sets you are looking West. Your perspective changes and the Moon and everything else in the sky appears to have rotated. The amount of rotation varys due to your location and time of year. It can also change in just a few weeks due to the tilted orbit. When you see a lot of tilt (wet moon) the Moon is in the higher part of the inclination of the orbit. Two weeks later it is would be in the lower part and the tilt would be less. |

Not because I'm a moontard but it just shows up on my window and my computer moniter is right below the window. I don't think moon's tilt is the problem. It tilts from time to time. However, I've been noticing the "orange moon" lately. Sometimes it's like red all night long. |
