I am sitting here online waiting to see if this is going to be an isolated incident, or if it is going to spread.
I am going to the store here in a bit to buy some last minute supplies; water, dry good foods, etc... And I think I will buy a pack of cigarettes. I haven't smoked in 7 years.

I don't think you have other wise you would know how HORRIBLE it is. You start again, even just one cancer stick, and you are back on the sticks. And the next round of quitting is worse than the first. Hence the term, "recovering smoker" at this point, preaching about the evils of cigs is pretty much a moot point. I've done it (quit) and it can be done again. There are worse fates-- like getting killed by a killer tsunami.
