I think the illuminati has too many meanings/understandings. Explain yours first before we should give a shit about your explanation of their purpose.;

Like a pet name for an event or something specific that identifies a particular thing the people of that sect had in common. This is true. The spelling of a word changes it. The Illuminati, along with so many other things throughout history, most likely started out as good guys trying to bring about enlightenment. Then, as usual, something or someone goes wrong and the whole thing goes to shit. It's the same ol story. Thank God, it's the end! Only problem here is the "good guys" never hide anything that is of light in the dark.
