What Was Your Favorite Conspiracy Hoax?
The Aussie Bloke hoax in 2004 is still my favorite, cause literally everyone was bloked.

Read about it here:

Y2K was the best!

I was out in the NM high desert, 1 mile down they revine there was a family of 4 hillbillies<? that had came up years before. The dad was an IT guy & made their family dig a hole w/ a ramp to fully bury their RV!!!

So, being drunk, we got our guns & creeped down the revine & 10minutes after Y2K we shot out the power meter & fired rounds in the air!

Low and behold they began return fire into the dark thank God as we found out they had many arms. Had to be one of the best times in my life!

I miss NM :((((

Yes, even the big companies were worrying and billions were spent. Although, it's rather debatable if it was really a complete hoax. With all the changes made, we will never really know. I think it was way overblown though.

ferglaugh at the Hillbilly shootout story.

NM is great during monsoon season with some fanastic electrtical storms too.

NM is great for the lawlessness, if that's a word. Very close to NBK on how you could run around doing that & not get caught for a good minute. In Fencelake, we're 50 miles from the closest cop shop in Gallup. But in another county so Fencelakes cop shop is in Grants, bout 80 miles out! There was a crazy shootout once 2 yrs ago & it took the cops 45 solid minutes to get there runnin top gear.

The one we don't know about... yet.

That is why I am here !

but, I particularly enjoyed Clifford Irving (Howard Hughes' Biographer). Though technically not a conspiracy, he put one over on the publishing industry and that, IMO, is classic.

My favorite hoax was the Y1K scare back when we had Pope Sylvestus II. Lot's of people were sure that the world was going to end because the year was 1000 AD, many did die of panic attacks. But that was a long time ago when I was fairly young.

I particularity don't like to be fooled about important event, but it's fun watching some of these conspiracy theories grow and implode.

I predict the March 15th pole shift will claim many victims/rubes.

I believe this as well. But then it will be undeniable.
No out of focus pictures and hearsay & wishfull thinking.

And if 'the others' initiate it, (and they are 'of good will')
and have done so in other places,
they will probably have a tried and tested way of doing so.

It would be either the coolest or scariest thing that
has ever happened.

I just hope they're not giant robot spiders..
That would damage my calm.

Re: What Was Your Favorite Conspiracy Hoax?
I like the hoax about Piltdown Man. It looked like the missing link and the story was believed for 41 years, 1912-1953. It turns out it was a forgery, a modern human skull and an orangutan jaw. I almost got away with it.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

The hoax had scientists believing all kinds of things about ape-man evolution that turned out to not be true.

I am same way as you. I still have yet to figure out why most people think ET spacecraft would have landing lights, especially on a hostile planet such as ours.

Some people say seeing ET replaced seeing angels....

If ET is like us humans as in the desire to dominate, it reminds me of this song:

The postcard computer virus made me laugth when it first did the rounds, it makes me howl when Isleofman.com published it last november warning the manx public to be on their guard for it.

It wasn't stupidity on their part just an epic fail at an attempt to extract infomation out of a manx whistleblower.

The full story of their epic fail will be coming to a website near you, sooooon.
