Do you know what a teabagger is?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 894431

Sure do. It's either someone who takes the testicles of the Koch brothers into their mouths on a regular basis, or a garden-variety pervert.

Unions are a corrupt special interest just like the banks. What's the difference?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1063859

Difference is and listen close...When people get mad at banks...they don't get mad at the Joe Shmo bank teller making peanuts

I didn't notice any Joe Shmo bank tellers abandoning their jobs, protesting and demanding bailouts either, numbnuts.

Re: I love how the teabaggers have gone from outrage at banks, to outrage at unions in less than a year.
Another funny thing about it was how tea party people are talking about revolution and revolt and demonstrations to fuck up those corrupt politicians. Yet the only people demonstrating and forcing politicians to their will are those pesky socialist unions.

So now all the populists are confused about what to do, they all seemed to settle for accusing democrats of abandoning the state.

Funny thing is I don't think that tea party people, at least 80% of them know what they are asking for, as middle-lower class unedducated people cuts in government spending will affect them directly. They will be all so determine to force washington to cut spending but then they will bitch about all the problems that arise from lack of funds for program they take for granted.

Americans are spoilled.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1012756

We're also broke, from having the government spending billions and billions of dollars we didn't have on all those lovely social programs.

Here's the deal.

WE DO NOT HAVE TO MONEY TO PAY FOR ALL THIS STUFF ANYMORE.

WE ARE BROKE.

It's as simple as that.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1278907

Yeh its the social programs that are eating up the budget not the trillions spent on war and propping up a failing banking system.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1278189

It doesn't really matter what we pissed the money away on.

Social programs, war toys, welfare for rich people...

it just doesn't matter anymore.

The only thing that does matter is, THERE IS NO MORE MONEY LEFT.

Period.

That is right,,,there is no more money left. Stop looking to the government for handouts and unions for guarantees.
Work hard, do a good job and you will prosper. Depend on yourself for a change.

Sure there is. We're still paying no-bid contracts, we're still building another carrier, and the Arizona teabaggers are spending hundreds of millions on bad legislation and attempts to get it through the courts.

We have loads of zeros to put after any number you name. They keep a trained monkey in the treasury department, who just sits there hitting the zero button.

Reading comments in this thread really does make it clear why the world is in such turmoil. There are still people who seem to believe what they hear on TV regarding the Tea Party, republicans, and democrats. And these are people that come here!? Do they not read the threads? Too much focus on extra planets and lizard people? For almost 20 years it has been painfully obvious to me that Americans lived well beyond their means. They all want to be celebrities because they think they are. All of this 'drama' is only necessary because people have simple minds. America is broken. It has been for a while. If the people in that country knew anything about anything, 9/11 would have been the only wake-up call needed. But most people just kept on carrying on, whining about not having enough money because they have mortgage payments on a house thats too big, and they can't afford that trip to Vegas this year, and they need new winter tires for all of their vehicles, and SUV tires aren't cheap. Not to mention that they have to buy their kids all kinds of things to make them cool. Heaven forbid the kid should get bullied. Gluttony is disgusting.

And how is building an unnecessary carrier any different from any other federal jobs program?

The teatards want people to think there's no money available because then people start accepting lower wages, less benefits, lower standards of living, less social services while corporations (which runs the teatards) can post even huger profits as that money then goes to THEM instead of YOU.

Remember the Tea Party before the stupids found out, though. There were a lot of people in the early stages of the movement that were trying to stand for their principles, and those were the principles of a person with above-average intelligence that was sick of all the lies and corruption. When the Tea Party was compromised, it happened that the media did its job well, and the stupids fell right into place. There are still a lot of people that are politically and socially aware, and some choose to still align themselves with the Tea Party, but the others have little voice. It doesn't mean they've gone away.

The money that you think is America's is not. The corporations have no allegiance to America. Imagine the cost of running a federal government with such money-spending foreign policy, and all the state governments. Add to that, municipal governments. Then you have to pay for the people. And all sorts of systems have failed, all sorts of people need handouts. Kids aren't taught to strive to be independent, they teach them to want to be famous. So, when they don't get the fame and fortune, they become parasites. With all the other parasites that already exist, the money for citizens is just not there. The banks are making money, but that is not America's money. If you have a nation of people that can't wait to spend their money, the banks and the corporations will win. And can you fault them? Imagine the money people would have if they didn't have the compulsion to buy things. Instead, they are tricked into giving it away, and then whine when they need more. That's the change that has to be made.
