anyone else hearing a low rumbling sound in Los Angeles at night?
Every night for the last few weeks i hear a very audible rumbling sound. At first i thought it was a loud truck driving by but then i realized I hear it all over the city, same exact pitch and duration, it never alters. Definitely not a truck. It comes every few minutes and lasts for about 20 seconds. it sounds like it is coming from the earth.

is anyone else hearing this? any ideas what it might be?

My friend believes it is part of the transition between dimensions, from 3rd to 4th and into 5th, that might be why most people do not hear it or are not paying any notice to it.

It is there and very real, every night, but what it is, i can't tell you. if you are in LA listen for it tonight, it is a low pitch, loud rumbling sound. let me know if you hear it, it will be there.

I don't notice it so much during the day, but at night I can hear it consistently here in Murrieta (Riverside County). Sounds like something deep below the earth; very low frequency rumbling.wtf

not being a smart-ass, but you do know L.A. has a subway system, right? (lots of people don't realize this!!) it starts at about 4:00 in the morning and goes up to about 11:00/midnight.

I was on it last week... noisy bugger

that is a very good possibility, however i live in the hills of Silverlake, no where near the subway lines and my friend who hears it too, is in Echo Park, also not near the subway.

Oh my!

That is funny.. you mentioned this..I am in N County San Diego...

For the last few nights I have heard this boom it kind of seems like somebody is pounding on the house with a powerful fist...

Early this morning I walked into my back yard and I looked in the Sky and here came that boom sound, I head it this morning, have not heard it in the last couple hours

At night it is really loud...

To Susie,

I heard the "booms" as well but in checking it out Camp Pendleton is doing training and you can hear tank and mortar fire up to 50 miles away. That doesn't explain the rumbling though.

High altitude aircraft travelling at speed can be loud for 20 seconds...and they can project the sound for miles.

Crazy...while I was driving today around noon time I heard a boom from the sky (heard it over my car and the outside road noise). Sounded like a jet had flown over but there was nothing. Being the GLP'er that I am I pulled over to look over the sky. Not a damn plane in sight. It was weird. Western MA here.

Get the app for your phone and see what you find.

There is an "IPhone Seismometer" free from iTunes Store too, which collects shakes from two dimensions, analysis and draw on LCD screen, acting like a conventional Seismometer.

Had that happen in Virginia Beach, airplane capital of the world! These planes that do that are so high up in the air we can't see them, or that is what I was told.

Re: anyone else hearing a low rumbling sound in Los Angeles at night?
OP....I hear the same kind of rumbling you describe here in Vegas too.

A friend of mine and I are trying to figure it out. It's gotten to be quite
comical....we've covered just about every possible scenario to no avail.

It's odd because it comes on all of a sudden and stays at the same level
it started. Meaning, it does not increase in sound...nor does it decrease.
And it is low and deep, and seems to come from the earth rather than
sound being carried through the air.

We even kept a record of when we heard it....but it got to be ridiculous
trying to keep up with that.

I'm baffled.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
