Well I'm socked in with clouds, I'll try again tomorrow morning, but I'm still waiting on a response Organic. How can Elenin be a fake cover for a "binary star" if amateurs with real equipment are producing images of it right where it should be?

Ok, at this point there seems to be a lot of debate on the calculations on the size of the object. However, I will tell you this much. If it hits, you me and all microbial life will be vaporized, assuming its even 50km across. I have watched simulations on this type of impact and the whole surface of the earth would liquefy from the kinetic energy of the impact. In fact, it would most likely rip enough crust away that it would essentially tear open the earth itself. The massive pressure from the inside of the earth would then eject ridiculous amounts of material out into space, which would fall back onto earth. Nothing, can survive temperatures of this magnitude.

If it is huge and passes close by, the debris field that we will pass through two month later would bombard us with rock fragments that would wipe out most stuff on earth by kinetic energy impacts and secondary fires. So I am not building a bunker. No I am going to have a beer and a cig and sit on my roof and watch, all 1.5 seconds of it.

Look... no disrespect.

Many of us know that things are coming to a head. Financially, geopolitically, definitely astrophysically (at some point in the future)… there are PLENTY of reasons to stock-up and such - the message is received – we get it.

So, assuming that everyone’s got the message and we are trying to hone-in on what SPECIFICALLY to expect… we have to weed-out the bullshit.

Some of us DON’T jump on every bandwagon like others. Some of us scrutinize information to be sure that it is not someone wanting to make a profit, needing attention, or is delusional and uses lies to support their claims.

If we don’t have the fortitude to TEST claims… then we are doomed by our own stupidity.

Sometimes, we don’t know certain facts, data… so we defer to those that do. I rarely see anyone on these threads who lend supporting critique – appreciated for this… rather, I see those who admittedly don’t understand certain subjects defend people with such bad claims without any TEST or rebuttal.

Those that are credible, experienced that lend contradicting data are called:

“Shill!”

I defend those with a track record of logically analyzing their data (and then I TEST even those folk to make sure that they are not trying to mislead!)

What is so hard to understand about that?

It’s not that: because we know things are gonna get “bad and ugly” we should attack anyone with differing verifiable data and assume that they are trying to mislead. It should be because their information is solid... OR NOT.

Astropatriot’s info leaks like a sieve. So those that don’t support his data aren’t saying that something bad won’t happen… they’re saying that he smells like fish and may detract from anyone with better experience or information.

If you don’t trust the government or NASA or politicians or scientists… why support a guy who is obviously a liar and attention whore? (vs. those that only trust the scientific method?)

The attacks on people who oppose this dude DESPITE his interesting, yet non-factual claims have me feeling sorry for you.
