Anyone know why all the Proton Events of late are only the 10MeV and not the 50/100?

Did she give us all she had during that 1 1/2 Week Supreme Storm earlier in the Year?

Good Morning All....

I see I have a couple pages to catch-up on since I left last night.

I hope everyone is well!
I stayed up all night to see where the sun went. Then it dawned on me.

May be a stupid question, but why all the gaps lately? Everytime I check to see if the sun is flaring there seems to be chunks of data missing. IS this just a glitch?

what do you suntards make of this little story?......

2012, THE BLACK SUN EFFECT - J.E. Ante

In late December 2012 when the sun conjunctions the Black Rift area of the galactic equator the sun will eventually turn black and intensely hotter for a time. This blackness is caused by a many fold increase in the number of sunspots on the surface of the sun.
THIS IS CHILDISH NONSENSE BASED ON COMPLETE NON-SCIENCE FICTION!

Puh-leez, spare us, there's real shit happening now. Observe, investigate and learn.

I have the same question. It seems that lately (past 2-3 weeks, or so), every time I check the links there is a data gap. The gaps in data makes me more nervous than seeing the data points off the charts. I get nervous thinking that "They" are hiding something that they don't want us to see.

Can any of the experts on here give us a basic explanation for why there seem to be gaps?

Happens in the fall and spring, look below the Xray flux chart

During the spring and fall, GOES satellites experience eclipses in which the Earth or moon blocks the X-ray instrument view to the sun for a short period every day. Eclipse season lasts for about 45 to 60 days and ranges from minutes to just over an hour. At these times there is a gap in the XRS signal shown.

Hope it helps [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

Thank you, so much for the quick response. The information helps.

I appreciate all the guidance you and others on here give those of us that mainly lurk while we are trying to comprehend all the data. Green karma for you!

Hmm, looks like the 2nd CME has come and gone eh? Moderate storm not bad not bad. So far no new CMEs showing up on the models from those C flares from 1564.

I can't tell for sure. But I'm sure if there was a filament burst anywhere near what we saw the other day. This thread would be all over it. So I think it is the same filament. Although, I don't think it's quite done with us as far as disturbances.

you never know what may pan out to be true. So rueling out something before you have 100% of the facts is not a very smart thing for anyone to do. You will also find that most Scientists will not 100% rule out anything.
They will always admit to the chances, even if very improbable, of something that has not been proven (or disproven)within science.

So lets all keep an open mind in here please!
That is, untill we are able to prove/disprove something 100% within science :)
