i do not like cosmic rays!
when the solar our protector from these is sleeping they grow stronger!

now here is the question....
are the cosmic really growing stronger and that is making the sun weaker?

Looks like more bad data from the ACE solar wind sensors tonight:

The Kp Index has been at 1 or Zero for the past 15 hours, so I don't think anything has been hitting the magnetosphere. All is quiet.
[link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

3-Day Spaceweather Forecast:
[link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

A predicted CME for the 2nd never materialized. The ACE data has been sporadically crazy, but I'm fairly certain it's a software issue or perhaps some charging of the sensors from the last big storm. We'll be in bad shape without the ACE satellite; even the Chinese and Russian space weather sites rely on USAF/NOAA/NASA/ACE solar event data-surely another sign of the NEW WORLD ORDER, haha.

By the way, forgive me if this was already posted (I just saw it today);

GOES-14 Online as Secondary X-ray Sensor and Imager:
GOES-14 has been brought online to provide additional operational coverage during the GOES eclipse season, the period where Earth comes between the GOES spacecraft and the Sun, obscuring the measurement for a brief period each day. After the eclipse season (on or around October 16th), GOES-14 will become the primary, and only, operational X-ray measurement platform (both XRS and SXI) during planned maintenance for GOES-15. After the GOES-15 maintenance (on or around October 30th), GOES-14 will return to storage and GOES-15 will once again be the primary, and only, operational X-ray measurement platform.

Looks like starting around the 9th we are going to get some coronal hole action.

Wonky ACE solar wind readings presently, and then during that 50-60/cm3 density CME the ACE density readings were completely and utterly wrong. Is ACE being held together with duct tape or what...

Good morning hf Hey Rev ....

This may be off topic, but two very reliable friends of mine in Manchester, NH are reporting loud booms and shaking houses. One was already up and getting ready for work, one was woken from a sound sleep. Nothing on USGS, and I can't find ANY fracking site in NH.

Anyone here from NH feel the same ???

I'd post a thread, but don't feel like getting attacked this morning wink

I'm in upstate NY, so I can't give you any personal views, but this is exactly what she said after I told her I hadn't seen anything on USGS:

"I didn't see anything either, but reports were coming in over the scanner from the west end of town. Everyone saying the same thing... big boom and their houses shaking. It was a minor one if that's what it was. Felt like some we've had in the past."

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If weve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. Were no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. Its simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that weve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back. Carl Sagan
