Re: SOLAR WATCH * 312 M & 25 X FLARES starting 3-7-2011 (Updated Daily)
I've noticed something odd. The last M-flare was from the SE limb spot as the EVE X-ray image indicates:

[link to lasp.colorado.edu]

However, when reviewing the SDO movies for that time period, I noticed a CME coming from 1589 in the NE as well as a bright flare signature not evident in the SE. Remember yesterday's M came from the NE but the CME seemed to come from the SE. These two regions may be connected beneath the surface (some kind of buried electro-plasma-plumbing system, haha).

SDO image from 23:15z showing CME in north:

Great minds working together!

I think whatever has been pulling energy away from us is going to return it soon. I made a post about a month ago that as we spiral with our system we may find ourselves in line with this energy draw. I feel this is starting to happen. Gabe turned me onto this info and I've been watching these farside anomalies, energy expenditure has switched it seems. We may get more than we bargained for.... remember the speedy gonzalez flare not long ago, imagine that impact coming our way. These regions are ready to make some serious noise, can't wait to see their makeup!

If , just if we're nearing the dense heart of the fluff,we may have a high hydrogen and helium particle grouping. Theres a chance this dense region is carrying its own immense polarity or even a bipolar front. This would definitely draw Sols attention from us. As we continue our spiraling rotational dance, this region could put us between Our star and IT. I think the boredom may end soon!
Peace!

The North-Eastern Beauty is a Beauty for sure!

The huge Shield like Field Structure [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] that encompasses it is incredible and appears to be related to the recurrent Coronal Hole 536 [link to www.solen.info] .

If you watch some of the Movies here [link to sdodata.oma.be] you can see hot Plasmas being very slowly fed into that huge structure.

It looks incredible to me,also..this structure has been on the disc in the same location for quite a few rotations now.

The SOHO solar wind data tells a story:

The ACE Protons roller-coaster is goin' uphill again:

None of the coronagraphs are updating (and, yes, it still pisses me off every time), so we may never know how big this CME turned out-

Howdy, NINz, I think we're in for a more active period. There's several more active hot spots due back within a week of these two. Most of the big filaments have been cleaned up now we're due for some big flare activity.

i have been watching that backside pretty close as well
i think you may be right about this one
the location of the sunspots are moving more and more tword the equator
im suspecting we will be seeing some magnetic arcking between regions

as for things here.. BAHHH its a war zone as always
i always laugh with my daughter about how news from our area is almost always list somewhere on the 1st page of GLP
i laugh even more at all the news that is not listed but should be
i tried to make a thread on here (it ended up not happening) about these candy lolipops they had at the gas station/party stops here. well the lollipops was a candy crack pipe
[link to www.thenewsherald.com]

we talked with the police last week, and they said they were too understaffed to do anything even if they knew where a wanted felon was, they just dont have the cops to pick them up, and event if the DID they had no place to keep them. This Friday, they will be releasing 100 county inmates because of over crowding at the county jail. Oh boy this weekend will be fun :/
saw on the news today that a guy broke into a mans home (home invasion) and was caught by the home owner (yes!) and held by gun point till the cops showed up HOURS later, then the cops gave the robber a ticket to appear in court and LET HIM GO.

ohhhh the stories i could tell hahaha
anyways haha thanks for asking Hugh, were doing our best to hang in there
Hope your doing the same after that whole car incident <3

i just wrote something about this just above to Hugh
the closer these sunspots get to the equator and in turn closer together, we will be seeing more and more play between sunspots. one feeding another. movement in one causing a big event in another etc
this will become more and more common as the magnetic fields on the sun become more unstable and reach the point where they flip
dont let this quiet sun fool ya people!

By the way, how's things in Detroit? Been getting some bad press in past few days. Bless you and be safe, friend.

i have been watching that backside pretty close as well
i think you may be right about this one
the location of the sunspots are moving more and more tword the equator
im suspecting we will be seeing some magnetic arcking between regions

as for things here..

I found this very intereasting, water vapor in interstellar cloud contains enough moisture to drown earth, not in our system though

Although i'm not very educated on solar knowledge, i read this thread alot because i find it extremely interesting. But i have one question. My phone/internet keeps cutting out and being alot slower then usual. Is there a fairly big cme/grb currently hitting the earth.

over the last few days he have been having a strong geomagnetic storm from a CME arrival
there is always a lot of people reporting the same issues every time there is a strong geomagnetic storm
could be from that :)

There's been some moderate geomagnetic storming in the past 70 hours, but I think the trouble is most likely with your internet provider.

WARNING: Geomagnetic K-index of 5 expected
Valid From: 2012 Oct 09 2240 UTC
Valid To: 2012 Oct 10 0300 UTC
Warning Condition: Onset
NOAA Scale: G1 - Minor
Potential Impacts: Area of impact primarily poleward of 60 degrees Geomagnetic Latitude.
Induced Currents - Weak power grid fluctuations can occur.
Spacecraft - Minor impact on satellite operations possible.

Aurora - Aurora may be visible at high latitudes, i.e., northern tier of the U.S. such as northern Michigan and Maine.

Thanks for info, just find it weird cause my internet has never been slow and i know they've been calling for some satellite problems all this week due to solar flares etc...

Thanks again though cheers

Found this very interesting for those who ponder the energy, density, and current possible anomalies of black holes!

It also seems that new black holes are popping up unexpectedly, hmmmmmm!
