I have been asking for just that : ) Don't forget Shads,we were hit by a 20 Hour long GRB from our closest Star back in March this Year - I think that must have had effects on our Earth and Ozone etc. - How could it not have!? [link to www.nasa.gov] For 20 Hours our Sun looked like this [link to www.nasa.gov] on FERMI...20 bloody Hours. I would imagine big effects on consciousness as well Isis One |

Respect to you Hugh,I'm back over to YT. Rice and Peas. Edit:That was/is a long eruption hey [link to halpha.nso.edu] ? Still hot. Much Respect. This new one seems more south-of-the-ecliptic, but more energetic as well. I think it will definitely have an effect on the first one. I doubt that NOAA or NASA will be of any use in predicting this one. We'll have to wait and see what happens. It may be very interesting. Also, the New Moon will make any auroras easier to watch in the darkest of skies. Since the moon may be in the line of fire, we may see a 'dust up' As tons of pounds of solar ejecta scour its surface. Isis One |

The Filament eruption region is still hot and one of the brightest X-Ray sources on the disc [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] and the colorized Magnetogram looks like the eruption may have torn the sun a new active region [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] potentially. I'd keep a eye on that for future reference to see if this region becomes a Sunspot, that would be quite interesting if it were to happen. Anyoo' - I'm back to YT. |

You'd expect there to be some kind of inter-play between the Two...it is a good question. |
