No NASA arrival forecast yet for incoming CME. CACTus details paint this CME as an extremely slow mover (500km/s) and a Type II halo. Judge for yourself:

It's pretty rare, but proton events have been caused by far-side eruptions in the past. Here's a list of previous proton (or SEP) events:

Will they piggyback then? Will it push the earlier one to get here sooner?

I've been wondering the same thing, Isis. This new one seems more south-of-the-ecliptic, but more energetic as well. I think it will definitely have an effect on the first one. I doubt that NOAA or NASA will be of any use in predicting this one. We'll have to wait and see what happens. It may be very interesting. Also, the New Moon will make any auroras easier to watch in the darkest of skies.

So, this may result in a protracted magnetic storm. Since the moon may be in the line of fire, we may see a 'dust up' As tons of pounds of solar ejecta scour its surface.

The Filament eruption region is still hot and one of the brightest X-Ray sources on the disc [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] and the colorized Magnetogram looks like the eruption may have torn the sun a new active region [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] potentially.

I'd keep a eye on that for future reference to see if this region becomes a Sunspot,that would be quite interesting if it were to happen.

Anyoo' - I'm back to YT.

In my mind I picture some kind of Magnetic wake in tail of a CME that may interact at distance with other Ejections in similar paths.

You'd expect there to be some kind of inter-play between the Two...it is a good question.
