Sorry,I forgot to snip about the Ring Current, here -

Snipped -

'The Ring Current
The third component of near-Earth space is the ring current which overlaps both the Van Allen belts and the plasmasphere from 8,000 to 30,000 kilometers from Earth. Ring current particles carry energies of several thousand volts, but unlike Saturn's rings, they do not flow in a complete ring around Earth. It is more prominent on the night time side of Earth, and it is at its strongest, carrying the most particles, during severe solar storm events which shake Earth's magnetosphere. This current of particles carries enough energy to actually change the strength of Earth's magnetic field even at ground level, especially in the equatorial regions. Although Van Allen belt particles are probably captured from the solar wind, and plasmasphere particles probably come from the upper atmosphere and ionosphere, the origin of the ring current particles is something of a scientific mystery. Scientists don't fully understand where they come from, or how they get energized to such high voltages within the magnetosphere'. I was hoping for AR1610 & 1611 to get into the game by now. AR1614 also looks like it might be a winner. AR1611 has been sparking a little lately and it's directly Earth-facing with an embedded filament, too.

M 2.8 flare kinda looks like the other three. Of course each new one is pointed closer to Earth. Here's a nice 3-wave SDO composite:

Take a look at the ACE data on the Right here [link to ccmc.gsfc.nasa.gov] Specifically the Polarities - Surely that was a Sudden Impulse/Geomagnetic Shock,no!?

I'll check the alerts now.

Edit:No,apparently not but we did just have a 10CM Radio Event!

Space Weather Message Code: SUM10R
Serial Number: 568
Issue Time: 2012 Nov 13 2141 UTC

SUMMARY: 10cm Radio Burst
Begin Time: 2012 Nov 13 2052 UTC
Maximum Time: 2012 Nov 13 2053 UTC
End Time: 2012 Nov 13 2054 UTC
Duration: 2 minutes
Peak Flux: 220 sfu
Latest Penticton Noon Flux: 146 sfu
Description: A 10cm radio burst indicates that the electromagnetic burst associated with a solar flare at the 10cm wavelength was double or greater than the initial 10cm radio background. This can be indicative of significant radio noise in association with a solar flare. This noise is generally short-lived but can cause interference for sensitive receivers including radar, GPS, and satellite communications. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov]

Nice job, Geo! I bet you get a great view of Jupiter tonight. I no longer have a scope or even binoculars, but I was amazed to see the Andromeda galaxy with the naked eye 2 nights ago. It's the farthest thing visible to the unaided eyeball. The skies here at my mountaintop compound in Tennessee are unbelievably dark and clear. Better than Colorado even!
