They are chemtrailing us today with trails that are enormous, not alot, but the biggest I've ever seen.

New findings on the Martian ionosphere released (It's the TEC, dammit!):

The highest electron densities are found at an altitude of about 140 km, where extreme ultraviolet light from the Sun ionises the neutral atmosphere. Electron densities above this layer generally decrease with increasing altitude. A secondary layer, which occurs at approximately 120 km, is produced by "soft" X-rays from the Sun and associated impacts with energetic electrons.

The composition and behaviour of the Martian ionosphere also differ over time and according to their geographical location. Atomic oxygen ions are most common at higher levels, while molecular oxygen species are more common at lower altitudes. These changes are caused by large variations in the solar wind, atmospheric dynamics and composition, and by the patchwork pattern of the crustal magnetic field.

The data show that the top of the ionosphere can drop below 250 km, but occasionally rise above 650 km. Graphs showing the vertical electron density of the ionosphere's main layer sometimes have a sharply pointed, flat or wavy shape, in contrast to its usual smooth, curved shape.

A broad increase in electron density is sometimes detected at 160-180 km, while a narrow layer of raised electron density is sometimes found in localised, but strongly magnetised regions, and an additional layer is occasionally present between the two main layers.

"These observations show that the Martian ionosphere is a lot more variable than I expected," said Paul Withers of Boston University, lead author of the two papers. "Many of these features have not been predicted and it will be interesting to see how theorists attempt to explain them."

SPACE SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM(S) UPDATE:

Lockheed Martin (who else?) Bids to Build USAF SSS-

Lockheed Martin has submitted its final contract proposal to build Space Fence, an advanced ground-based radar system that will improve the way the U.S. Air Force identifies and tracks orbital objects.

Space Fence will provide much-needed enhanced space situational awareness capabilities for the Air Force and allow the service to decommission the aging U.S.-based Air Force Space Surveillance System, originally installed in 1961.

"The original surveillance system wasn't designed to detect and track the hundreds of thousands of smaller, orbiting objects that are in space today, potentially threatening the International Space Station, future manned space flight missions and our nation's critical satellite assets," said Steve Bruce, vice president for space surveillance systems at Lockheed Martin's Mission Systems and Sensors business.

DARPA's (Defense Advance Research Projects Agency) Space Surveillance Telescope Heads Down Under-

DARPA's ground-based Space Surveillance Telescope (SST) may soon head to Australia. An agreement reached this week with Australia's Department of Defense will allow DARPA to take the 180,000 lb. three-mirror Mersenne-Schmidt telescope to Australia to track and catalogues space debris and objects unique to the space above that region of the world that could threaten DoD satellites.

In the joint agreement, the U.S. and Australia have decided to work towards the establishment of the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST) on Australian soil.
SST was developed to detect and track previously unseen small objects at the deep space altitudes associated with geosynchronous orbits (roughly 22,000 miles high).

Let the Space Wars Begin!

Woo-hoo, NOAA has finally issued numbers for our new active regions! Of course they got them backwards (cough, cough) and you'll notice 1617 no longer exists (ha, try to sneak one past me, eh?). The one to watch IMO is AR1619 (just below 1616) which is growing fast. The other new guy is 1618 which is further east and comprised of a 8 or 9 tiny spots. You'd think NOAA would have this down to a science by now, LOL. Sheeesh.

This may be old news to some of you, but I just stumbled on this story from 1999....so it's new news to me.

MAY 1999-The Day the Solar Wind (almost) Disappeared!

From May 10-12, 1999, the solar wind that blows constantly from the Sun virtually disappeared in the most drastic and longest-lasting decrease ever observed. Dropping to a fraction of its normal density and to half its normal speed, the solar wind died down enough to allow physicists to observe particles flowing directly from the Sun's corona to Earth. This severe change in the solar wind also drastically changed the shape of Earth's magnetic field and produced a rare auroral display at the North Pole.

Starting late on May 10 and continuing through the early hours of May 12, NASA's ACE and Wind spacecraft each observed that the density of the solar wind dropped by more than 98%. Because of the decrease, energetic electrons from the Sun were able to flow to Earth in narrow beams, known as the strahl. Under normal conditions, electrons from the Sun are diluted, mixed, and redirected in interplanetary space and by Earth's magnetic field (the magnetosphere). But in May 1999, several satellites detected electrons arriving at Earth with properties similar to those of electrons in the Sun's corona, suggesting that they were a direct sample of particles from the Sun.

"This event provides a window to see the Sun's corona directly," said Dr. Keith Ogilvie, project scientist for NASA's Wind spacecraft and a space physicist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD. "The beams from the corona do not get broken up or scattered as they do under normal circumstances, and the temperature of the electrons is very similar to their original state on the Sun."

We could use this one , nice catch. I'm hoping for a nice moderate CME,we'll see.

If 1619 could develop it has an interesting signature,needs big polarities, that grouping needs to define but could grow into something to watch

that one sort of resembles a puckered up anus which is why I thought it was sort of atypical. This picture from the March 9 M6 made me think of Lucifer etc.



I think it really helps to be acquainted with the bible before jumping to conclusions. But this was one of the mirrored pictures that got me thinking.

Many of the SDO images from 10-2011 to 3-2012 are amazing even without the special effects.

I have just received info via e-mails from some of my contacts, and they stated that large solar flares above X-20 will start to flare after the date of December 13 2012. They told me that at least three flares above X-20 will happen before January 1 2013. I hope they are wrong.....
