Where is SS 1615? Around the western limb going toward the backs? So the C3 was not geoeffective? Quoting: Isis One Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it ~ Andre Gide |
| Isis One User ID: 14343270 11/24/2012 04:51 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Those vids were soooooooooo helpful, especially the first one. I did pick up on an inconsistency though. In the beginning they say the magnetosphere protects earth from the solar wind charged particles, yet in the end they say "charged particles from a solar storm can penetrate earth's magnetosphere." Also of interest is the analogy of a circulatory system established to direct the flow and influx. Also clearer to me now, the magnetosphere contains three types of energy fields, low energy cold plasma field co-rotating with earth, a medium energy field of pos and neg charged particles floating around earth, and the intense set of high energy van allen belts. So anyone know how a plasma discharge event, the likes of which are depicted in the petroglyphs all over the world would be formed given this info in the vid? Maybe something would heat up the temp of that cold plasma field and that could be the source. Also thinking this is why they sent those probes into the van allen belts. They may have something to do with the Plasma discharge events. Anywho, thanks tons Hugh for finding and posting that, very educational. Isis One |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 28269905 11/25/2012 02:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 19367 Pink Floyd is an asteroid that has been named in honor of the English musical group Pink Floyd. It was discovered on December 3, 1997. It is in a 3.82-year elliptical orbit around the sun. Its previous perihelion passage occurred on December 23, 2004 at 9h00 UT. There is little information on the physical properties of 19367 Pink Floyd. Its diameter remains uncertain; range of 3 to 6 km is probable. 19367 Pink Floyd's maximum brightness is estimated to be 1/14958 of the brightness of the faintest objects that can be seen with the human eye. The asteroid's name is unusual in that it is expressed as two words, instead of "Pinkfloyd" which is the format used by most other minor planets named for individuals or groups (although the asteroid named for the Rolling Stones is also expressed as two words). |
