What a difference a week makes! Last week I sent an email to Solarsoft pointing out the M1 flare they missed and they were too busy to thank me (as they have in the past).

Tonight they actually recorded that over-the-limb flare as a B 2.1. I kid you not...they must be bored to tears tonight, haha.

Funny you mention meteors, whiteangel. I just saw a brilliant white fireball explode directly overhead about 45 minutes ago. I watched it flash like a camera strobe w/ a short smoke trail behind it. It was then I realized it was a CLOUDY SKY! The thing was definitely brighter than Venus a short second or two. I'm not sure, but it may be this first one here-

Get a grip on yourself Cesium, it was just a massive B3.2 flare in the NE and a fluttering filament in the SE. I'm gonna look for more meteors and then get some sleep. Wake me up if there's an X-flare, OK? Good-night all.

I like how all our minds are synching, somehow I missed whiteangels comment. I had to go lay on the back lawn for a spell before to get grounded. While there I observed a huge falling star, also had the binoc's with me, Jupiter is so bright, and you can see the moons. Came inside and checked the meteor site, sure enough, saw this party. Then read a comment on the Geminids, which said they are unusual as they supposedly come from an asteroid not a comet., They peak on the 12-13, but I think we are getting a nice pre-show.

Wow!!!!eastern limb is coming apart

I remember you posting a few months ago I think it was you saw one and reported it...

Had to go out and check out the stars and yup, wanted to see if I would see a nice falling star, nope! Even with a very bright moon, which looks pretty with it's top missing, the stars and planets are all so bright and not a cloud in the sky. Just too cold to stay out there long.

That eastern limb is going bezerk,energy ripples and magnetic arcs,wow. I believe the western limb is becoming a convective conduit for the eastern
