I was reading through this thread and came across this post. Look at these pix on Helioviewer. WTH!!

I do not remember these being discussed here last week, however, I was not active on the thread on the 27th-28th.

If it was discussed can someone tell me what the outcome was?

If it was not discussed can everyone take a look at these pics and advise? It sure looks like something is sitting next to the sun in these. I am not fear mongering just pointing out what the pic shows.

Since March 7th 2011 we have had:
227 M Flares
14 X Flares
1 X LDE Flare lasting 5hrs
1 M LDE Flare lasting 10hrs
1 M LDE Flare lasting 5hrs
5 M LDE Flares lasting 7hrs
2 M LDE Flares lasting 8hrs
1 M LDE Flare lasting 13hrs
1 X LDE Flare lasting 7hrs
2 C LDE Flares each lasting 9hrs
1 C LDE Flare lasting 4hrs
1 C LDE Flare lasting 10hrs
2 C LDE Flares lasting 4hrs
(LDE = Long Duration Event)


i have not kept track of the durations of CMEs and the time they took to lift from the solar surface
but we do see very slow CMEs now and then

Now I have see your other site and the first page and knew darned good and well that LDE can last awhile but I just didn't remember 9 hours, lol. From the above, it looks normal and not rare.

This image when watched in real time was a blackening of about a third of the sun,although they've now removed it,but have you seen it drop this much before from a CME release?

This is a lovely article Isis7 linked us to over on Gabe's thread. I was not aware of this, and can't believe it is not better known (I mean I don't live under a rock). Basically, it states the Milky Way is not our parent galaxy, we are part of Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy, see the article for the rest of the story and diagrams.
