Keep a eye on the North-East Filament [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] on the limb - That growing Coronal Cavity should rip away quite soon taking a good chunk of the Filament with it,if the Sun behaves as normal that is : )

Coronal Cavities are good precursors for CME prediction,I find.

Hi Mia, yes it was discussed here at the time, Nasa says its a coronal cavity, I'm not buying it, no offence SC, and Hi!! Maybe this drained so much energy out of the sun its having a hard time firing up. I'm going with new gaseous/plasmoid planetary body for the win.

This is looking pretty messy and spectacular in terms of the field lines and Coronal Cavities,of note is the Triangular CC in the extreme South-East [link to sdodata.oma.be] but there is much to see and to expect.

Also of note is the Prominence/Filament and Coronal Cavity in the North-East.

NASA is only giving them a 1% chance of an X, but I wonder how many times an X has erupted when there was only a 1% chance?

Did you not see the Cavity disperse as the CME itself dissipated into the Solar System?

I'm not saying your fav. is'nt possible,just this wasn't it,we have a Pyramid like Shaped CC at the moment in the South-East [link to sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov] and a large Filament related CC in the North-East that looks ready to go anytime now.

Why do I venture off the sites where the intelligent roam! I get so tired of trying to make some people understand the simplest of theories(no one involved with this thread).
