How very fuckin' bizarre!?

That's sure a hell of prominence, if that's what it is at the 9:30 right now.. I hate to say it, but damn.. that guy had it down within minutes, which would be hard enough even with a clear shot of the farside with an obvious prominence to base an estimation from to get it that close to the time that it would suddenly be visible on SDO.. but there was no obvious prominence farside - I've been keeping track of all Stereo imagers for the last few days, to the extent of using FITS files to make gamma band-pass images to look at certain features that the pre-rendered images did not clearly show I saw no gifuckingantic prominence..

also, watch the movie for STEREO B EUVI 195 and watch that sunspot thats abput to rotate around the limb, paying special attention to the entire area below it

What about the black sphere event that the "Brazilian expert" talked about? It was supposed to be at 1:15 PM Brazil time and last for 4 hours and 25 minutes.

I'd also like to point out that this same region(and others)have featured Coronal Cavities over the last Weeks/Months but were not taken any notice of.

The Triangular One in the South-East appears to have gone unnoticed,that was about 2 Weeks back.

That is a Sunspot region over the limb,nae' a Prominence.

Nice captures regardless.

-Ahem- What I meant to say was that I have been keeping track of all Stereo imagers except EUVI for the last couple of days :-) It sure was there, but I'm no less impressed about the accuracy of the timing!

That is related to 66's earlier Filament Ejection.

Yes, a large, diffuse filament erupted in the NW producing a Hyder Flare and a CME (potentially geoeffective).

Howdy,muse1111, great question...I see it's near the same longitude but over 60 degrees south in latitude away from the eruption which was north-directed.
