With regard the shape you are seeing I personally cannot make it out spare' the South-Eastern Triangle CH...That one I do see : ) But yes,our Sunspot issue is certainly a mindbender! I have one theory and that is to do with Flux Transfer Events/Magnetic Tethers [link to science.nasa.gov] <--- Just a page about our the Portals not my ponderation. I am tired so all I will say is - Sunspots require a more complex and powerful region of Magnetism in order that they develop. Rice and Peas.  Do you follow the mainstream scientific model of the sun? (Nuclear fusion) Na aaa. 'These new findings based on SDO imagery, if verified, would upend our understanding of how heat is transported outwards by the Sun and challenges existing explanations of the formation of sunspots, the magnetic field generation of the sun, not to mention the concept of convective mixing of light and heavy elements in the solar atmosphere. 'However, our results (PDF) suggest that convective motions in the Sun are nearly 100 times smaller than these current theoretical expectations,' continued Hanasoge, also a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Plank Institute in Katlenburg-Lindau, Germany. Also, was reading your's and Da's comments. I was thinking of hot embers in a fire pit. Take away the oxygen and breeze and they die right out. So maybe there is some unknown element in the sun's atmosphere that combined with it slamming through space at I don't know how many km/hour and maybe that contributes to its combustion (since the old theory is caput).
