Edit:For those not up to speed here is 1654 on its' last rotation [link to www.solen.info] Solen Page [link to www.solen.info] .

1654 had a lot of potential but mostly failed to deliver having a BGD configuration,no X Class Flares.

For years astronomers have looked for the elusive mechanism that causes some stars to have a corona that is almost 200 times hotter than their photosphere, despite being further away from the heat source at the star's core. It is believed that the cause of the increased temperature is due to magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves that distribute the energy generated below the star's surface to the outer layers of the Sun's atmosphere

Hi 'Cesium,
It's crazy here in Cornwall,usually known for it's sub-tropical climate we've winds gusting at 70mph, snow, hail, rain & a mix of all three at times. Sea levels seem to be thumb nosing at tidal charts too.....with apparently stronger, severe gales after 7pm. I've lived here most of my life as well as doing a fair bit of sailing...this is new to me!

We have the high winds here but no hailing etc. as yet though the Clouds are beginning to get the hue usually seen before a hail storm.

We got some news on Saturns' Super Storm that has been raging since 5th December 2010...it has apparently began to fizzle out after circumnavigating the Planets Equator it would appear the meeting of the leading edge with the Storms tail has caused it to cancel itself out,here -

There is something something up with saturn.



Nature does not form straight lines nor hexagons last I checked. I can't really say that i'm in that much awe, considering no one even knows how the sun works.

60 some moons, those rings. Saturn is artificial to a degree .

Yes,it is quite a impressive feature that Northern Hexagon - I haven't been following Saturn too much - Do you know if the North Pole still maintains that same form Daffy?

During the last maunder or dalton, was there any observations made on the other planets? I know the tech would be lacking but the mayans knew a lot they shouldn't of for the time.

I'm sure most of you who watch S.O know this event that is undertaking in our solar system is not just limited to the sun and earth.

Have been researching this also 66, but wouldn't you think at this point we would be seeing cooler temps? It's been months now since we have had any "real" activity. Europe is cooler, but the States and down under have been breaking heat records. Any thoughts on this? I just keep scratching my head trying to find a head start on what is coming.

Arrr - I have posted the plots that show a clear comparison...it looks to be that way to me,hope and luck is all we have here - The data tells us that this Cycle when weighed with the previous Cycles does appear to be somewhat of a repeated longer Minimum Cycle.

I am sure you saw/read the post I made with the data that appears to show this 66,it is about 15 Pages back.

Hello Angel - What is not generally reported is the fact that along with the record Highs we are also experiencing record Low Temps. with wild swings of 30+ Degrees in 24 Hours.

Due to the GW trumpet the Highs are all folks are tending to hear about...if you take a look you will see it is extremes of both ends we are truly experiencing at present.
