No to be rude, but you DO realise that ISWA is JUST an animation/model and NOT the ACTUAL READ data?

Don't go down the road like the other guy who's posting videos about "Mercury going rogue, impacting with Earth".... lay off the computer and GO to a REAL-LIFE telescope, or hang out with your astronomy professor and check it out for YOURSELF instead of keeping attached to your computer screen....

Just saying, no intent to be rude......

Geomagnetic storm, 40 days from now, you will be agreeing that the situation in our solar system would be extremely abnormal and weird, due to several weird phenomena and never-before-seen shit in the skies.... The countdown starts now....40 days from now, remember.... Now is February 12 2013, so 40 days later is, you do the math.....

What happened to the EVE SAM images? They haven't updated since the 8th. I've never seen any big gaps with that instrument except when it's calibrating. I hope it ain't broken.

You're right, I can't find any info even on other blogs. NASA used to have a site that announced inter-agency memorandums in regard to satellite issues, but I haven't been able to find it since losing my bookmarks.

This is the only reference I've found to SDO/EVE

 Quoting: Da fuq

The STEREO instruments and imagers were to specifically designed to observe CMEs and other solar activity. They are not purposed for, nor very good for planetary observations. That also goes for stars, nebulae, galaxies, asteroids, black holes, etc. Sometimes they're are good for observing comets if they happen to whiz by the f.o.v., but not as good as Earth-based observatories. If you want to observe Mercury go out 30-40 minutes after sunset. It should be visible for another week or two in the twilight. Binoculars or a backyard telescope will give you a better view than the STEREO HI-1 camera.
