Hello MTN and all : )

Looks like Mercury is going to be impressive, remember how it looked as it passed C3 last with apparent 'wings'?

The last frames of this [link to stereo.gsfc.nasa.gov] can you see the two long horns on its head?

Sick.

I would think we'll see some of this come our way. Keep an eye on those coronagraphs for a CME.

I think 1677 is going to send an arc up the rear end of that big southern filament and send it flying. Well it would make things interesting.lol

I got a red for saying I was surprised it was pinned since we didn't have an X-flare (that would have brought in the whole community to shill and gawk).

If it was someone here, I meant no disrespect.

Just putting that out there and carrying on...

Solar activity was low. Region 1675 (N13E04, Cao/beta-gamma) produced an
isolated C1 flare at 18/0241 UTC. It showed minor spot decay in its
intermediate and trailer portions, but retained a beta-gamma magnetic
configuration. Region 1673 (S09E31, Cao/beta-gamma) showed minor
interior spot growth and a weak beta-gamma magnetic configuration. A
cluster of spots gradually emerged to the southeast of Region 1671
(N14W35, Hsx/alpha) and was numbered as Region 1678 (N10W26, Dro/beta).

No significant change was noted in the remaining spotted regions. There
were no Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CME) observed during the
period.
